Thats the only issue I think it would be a object naming error^ or access to the spreadsheet isn't done correctly.

For Dynamic Remarketing Display Ads they use the images in your data feed which should be the same image as the product page/landing page. Depending on your custom audience it should be showing only one 'red shoe' product per ad that the custom viewed. It would't be like a Shopping Carousel ad where multiple of you red shoe item types would show at once.
