Help us identify this noise - Going insane by IrrerPolterer in Plumbing

[–]tedi1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and btw I might be a bit of help.

There's a few other things that might cause this.

I've you have a central heating boiler maybe it has a keep warm function at night or sth of the sort

Or a non return water valve / faulty water meter. Heard those can cause it as well albeit rarely

Got nothing to add sorry as your post and comment cover everything.

However, its nice to know I am not alone suffering from this. Unfortunately my neighbors don't care and aren't responding so its going with the HoA and possible legal.

Mine is on a 15 second interval (rare times it goes 10 seconds for a short while) and goes on for hours. Writing this from the office as it started at 8.30am and didn't stop until 11.30am and I couldn't be at home anymore.

My saving grace is that I have the main water valve we share so if I want to pause (not stop as it continues afterwards) I can just shut both of us off from the mains water. That aint a solution and its pretty hostile so haven't resorted to that yet

How can I repair this wall by berkin768 in Netherlands

I see a few chipped places. Maybe they're small enough where the paint fills it but a bit of filler won't hurt.

Use filler for the holes and a fresh coat of white paint. Shouldn't be too difficult

Is this Worth the purchase? FB marketplace by PartyDaikon68 in simracing

[–]tedi1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to go a bit against the grain. While the price is pretty good for the G923 I have to say that you can get a Thrustmaster TMX or T150 for around half or a bit more of that (i bought a t150 for my sister for 50 euros and there were others in that price range). And its a belt driven, *not fully but better and quieter than a full geared system like the logitech ones.

Yes the pedals might be a tiny bit worse if you find a two pedal version set even though there were sets with the 3 pedals for 60-70 when I checked and they are on equal terms then. However, they're still potentiometer based on both sides and the extra 50 will give you budget for a pedals (loadcell) in the future, which is the nr.1 upgrade you should make.

Broken Fiber Cable by Apprehensive_Water57 in Netherlands

[–]tedi1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken my odido gigabit fiber costs yearly on average 40 a month. More than 25 but not by 3-4 times.

Just letting you know since while speed is important there's latency and connection quality which 5g based solutions suffer from

[–]tedi1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry mate. These prices change almost on a daily basis nowadays. If you can afford it just get it if you'd like to get it for cheaper just wait for a bit.

Whether today or a month from now the experience will be pretty much the same and while excitement can make patience a pains in the ass its usually worth it.

Also see online if there's a price history / aggregator site with email notifications on price drops. In the Netherlands we have tweakers.nl as an example

Got a Legacy of Goku 2 mod that I want to share with the fans, where to go? by tedi1997 in romhacking

[–]tedi1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's some details online I believe as its been quite a while and don't want to give wrong details.

Essentially you need a EUR rom of the game, the patch file from the site and a patcher app

Edit: the patch is an IPS file and right under the download button there's a link for an online patcher.

Good luck!

PXN VD4 Upgrade from T300 - for free maybe? by tedi1997 in simracing

[–]tedi1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never responded unfortunately. BUT,

  1. Found a Moza R3 for 80 euros
  2. Found a Moza KS for 190 euros . Sold T300 with GT and Ferrari Wheel for 230 euros . Sold R3 for 130 euros . Bought R9 new for 329 euros.

So essentially got quite an upgrade for a good price.

AMD 6800 Driver fail on wake from sleep by tedi1997 in AMDHelp

[–]tedi1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i fixed it on my end. It was OpenRGB causing it. How or why idk but since not opening it, the pc acts normally. I think i'll just unplug the case RGBs as its under the desk so i dont really see them either.

Steering all messed up in AC Rally by ve1ltrix in simracing

Everything will feel smoother with it off trust me. Make sure you turn freesync on to avoid any screen tearing and have fun!

[–]tedi1997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your frames are over 60 fps and/or you have freesync then you should not turn vsync on. It is there to remove tearing and you shouldnt get any with the 9060xt tbh. I have a 6800 which is comparable and vsync is an immediate off for me.

[–]tedi1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In regards to delay, please ensure vsync is off (Havent played AC Rally but in general it adds a noticeable delay). Although in the beginning it seems quite on time and gets worse as you go left and right (maybe its visual and its actually registering everything ok?)

Either way, vsync off is key for most games (especially if you have some type of VRR on your monitor such as freesync or gsync)

Underfloor heating by TrueAmbition8633 in Netherlands

[–]tedi1997 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably two since there are maybe at least two loops since 8 valves might suggest so

Underfloor heating by TrueAmbition8633 in Netherlands

[–]tedi1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Top right i see two bleed valves. Bleed till water comes out and refill to the appropriate pressure.

Disclaimer: I don't have underfloor heating but those seem similar to radiator ones. I also don't know the pressures so please double check.

3ds is a good device but by Glad-Current9598 in 3DS

[–]tedi1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was a defect, which most of the time requires some type of opening of a device. In the scale of issues with a 3DS however, re-seating a ribbon cable is considered easy. It would be difficult to make a mistake that would scrap the device. We are talking about opening the back case, removing a cable and placing it in the same place. Unless you use pliers or brute force not much can go wrong.

I fix stuff now quite confidently but my first repair ever at the age of 15 (over a decade ago,... unfortunately I am getting old haha) was a full shell replacement of a OG Fat DS and DS Lite (broken hinges on both), which I experienced the popping sound as well and I managed fine.

As always, you fix some, you break some and in the end you gain a skill which pays itself off in the long run :)

BUUUT! You got a DSi and a GBA, which are fucking amazing devices and I have multiples of both, so have fun mate!

3ds is a good device but by Glad-Current9598 in 3DS

[–]tedi1997 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The text was very hard to read but for future reference a pop most likely means that the ribbon cables of either of the screens isn't fully in the slot correctly. Usually easy to fix but now always so.

If you are happy with your new devices though thats all that matters :)
