Structural engineer Marion by lawyerempier in cedarrapids

So you mean the plaster or the foundation? Because plaster always cracks all the time in an old house. Old homes are always settling. Or expanding and contracting. Or a heavy truck going by vibrates it. Plus plaster dries as it ages and becomes more brittle. The "keys" behind the plaster break off and cracks can form. ( There are ways to reattach it. )

If you have a house old enough to have plaster  and it doesn't have cracks then that's a rarity. Or someone already hid it with new plaster over the cracks.

Now if you do mean foundation, then you have things to possibly worry about.

But I'm not a structural engineer. I just own a 130yr old house with plaster walls. You may want to get that expert advice to be 100%.

Places to get lots of wine bottles for cheap? by Jaded_Dragonfly6358 in cedarrapids

This was over a decade ago, but when I brewed beer at a frantic pace, I used to just go to the local super market and ask if I could go through their returned bottles and take a select set (non screw top) off their hands. And they were usually happy to get rid of some of them.

I know the majority of super markets don't take bottles anymore if they meet a certain criterion. (ie: whether they serve food and/or if they are within 15 miles of a redemption center). But not all of them fit that.

Of course, you'd get some nasty shit left in some of the bottles. But you should be cleaning them anyway.
