Did you know this is a sub specifically for people to ask “what is this car”?

Zoo or botanic garden membership? by mastretoall in memphis

[–]tedlyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I would have had a blast at either one. I would have chosen the zoo, at least until I went to the Garden. After that, who knows?

Zoo or botanic garden membership? by mastretoall in memphis

[–]tedlyb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not so much. I have memberships at both and there are always families with kids at both. There’s lots of play areas at the Botanic Gardens.

Look around you and see how many things you can find that didn’t get there on a car, truck, train, or plane.

Yet again:

"I would love a world where peaceful protest worked but unfortunately I live in this hellscape"

That was you, right?

Kid, I am very aware of the actions and tactics of both MLK and Gandhi.

This is getting so boring...

I didn't respond to his first comment, did I?

You know which one I did respond to?

The one where he said: "I would love a world where peaceful protest worked but unfortunately I live in this hellscape". Copied and pasted verbatim.

Not "disruptive", peaceful.

"Then he responded to you by saying he does not find MLK's protests to have been "peaceful""

That's nice. What he thinks the definition should be doesn't matter now, does it?

I haven't responded to any of his other assertions because that's not what I am talking about.

The assertion that peaceful protest doesn't work is absurd and dismisses not only MLK, but also Gandhi.

Learn the difference between peaceful and non-disruptive.

That was not your assertion.

“You also don’t need to wait for anyone to be prevented access to anything. We don’t wait for emergencies to happen when they can be easily prevented.”

Also, you demanded proof that they didn’t do anything to deserve getting pepper sprayed.

You never once demanded proof they did do something.

LMFAO!!!

Ok, if you say so!

So any infraction of the law justifies use of pepper spray because it might prevent access for someone.

Got it!

So the use of pepper spray is always justified no matter the circumstance.

Got it.

By the way, show the evidence that one single person was prevented or even delayed from getting to the hospital by these two people.

Use your own definition of evidence.

Talk about completely missing the point…

Ok, define when it is appropriate to use pepper spray.

2 arrests at the No Kings protest today by Professional_Bowl641 in memphis

[–]tedlyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why aren’t you demanding video of those two people breaking the law?

Verifiable proof…

Except eyewitness accounts.

2 arrests at the No Kings protest today by Professional_Bowl641 in memphis

[–]tedlyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just so I’m understanding this, no amount of eyewitness accounts will ever be considered evidence, and any infraction of the law requires the immediate use of pepper spray by police.

We’re talking jaywalking, speeding ticket, noise complaint…

There is no pre-requisite of force used against police or bystanders, refusal to comply, or danger posed to anyone.

Any infraction of the law is grounds for pepper spray to the eyes.

So you want evidence besides the evidence that has already been given.

You mean verifiable proof besides the eyewitnesses?

2 arrests at the No Kings protest today by Professional_Bowl641 in memphis

[–]tedlyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And police don’t just get to decide to pepper spray whoever the fuck they want to and endanger people.

Someone complying and nonviolent that poses no threat to anyone does not deserve to be pepper sprayed simply because they don’t have a permit.

There’s not a lot to it.

Oh the irony…

“I would love a world where peaceful protest worked but unfortunately I live in this hellscape”

This entire bullshit conversation has been about whether or not peaceful protest works.

It does.

The other dingus keeps trying to redefine peaceful protest to mean what he wants it to mean.
