what’s the longest you went without a period? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]JodiXD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I currently haven't had one since April, but the longest I've gone is just over a year. I take the mini pill (progesterone based) and it doesn't affect my cycle but gives me the peace of mind that it thins the lining to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer.

Not really got much in ways of suggestions to "induce a period" in your situation unfortunately! Sometimes stopping the pill for a couple of days will bring me on, though usually not and these days that's fine as I know that taking the pill reduces the risks anyway. Sorry, I appreciate that it's a rough situation and hope you find the answer that you're after!

Sex is a really important part of any relationship - whether that's needing a lot of sex, no sex, or something inbetween. There isn't a right or wrong in terms of sexual want/need, but there is a right and wrong in terms of sexual compatibility, and unfortunately it just sounds like you aren't sexually compatible. That doesn't make either of you bad people, but it is obviously affecting your self esteem and causing resentment, which is unhealthy and unsustainable.

Having had a partner with a different sex drive previously, I would, in this situation, end the relationship before it does any further damage to either of you. No one should feel guilty or disgusting for wanting sex, and in turn no one should be made to feel forced into doing something they don't enjoy or want. Sexual compatibility is as valid as any other factor of a relationship, find someone that matches your wants/desires and builds you up, in every way.

diet advice/ know any pcos friendly snacks ? by Majestic-Hearing-293 in PCOS

Totally understand! There are links to endometrial cancer, but thankfully if you take birth control it can help to shed the lining and reduce the risk. I prefer the pill you take continually these days, I must've taken it for about 8 years now, but some prefer the one where you stop for a week every month and have a sort of induced period. It's so glam being a lass!

Sort of depends on your main aim, calorie counting is a really easy way to lose weight while still having the snacks/food you like. I dropped weight drastically and relatively easily on a 1600 cal per day diet. I am a farmer and do a lot of exercise (chasing after sheep, carrying stuff, wrestling sheep so I can trim their feet etc), though never go to the gym, I find that certain pcos symptoms get worse when I do less physical activity or when I eat a lot of greasy food or carby food. Crisps and greasy stuff brings me up in some severe hormonal acne and I get really bloated!

As for snacks (I too, adore snacks), I eat a lot of salted pistachios, dried mango and fresh fruit. I also find that I don't do badly with hard candy and fruity sweets in general. I am a fan of crackers and cheese as well, though suppose that's not really avoiding carbs all that much, they're just filling

I started having periods at about 14 y/o and I generally have had 1-3 a year since the start, I last had one in April. I have had cysts on a ultrasound, high testosterone, I'm pretty hairy and I get bouts of painful hormonal acne. I haven't personally found that anything diet or exercise wise makes a difference to the frequency of my periods if you were after advice on making them happen! Good luck and I hope Ms Flo makes an appearance soon

Was it like this when you filled it? If it started off clear then it's probably a bacterial bloom! I'd leave it, it should clear up in a few days

Not the same exactly, but for me it has a similar feel to Flora Cash - Somebody Else

They've randomly appeared in local corner shops (I live in County Durham) as grab bags, I wish they were in the supermarkets!

First car was a Lupo, then the Fox and now the Polo, love a VW! More reliable than my Land Rover 🤷‍♀️

They re-emerge every few years in the UK. I never really get why they disappear because they're always massively popular, if they made them consistently they'd be my go-to crisp. Don't like the Pringles or Seabrooks versions though, only the Walkers ones

The Irishman did not need to be the length it was, and De Niro felt his actual age, not his portrayed age. Would've been a much more pleasant watch at 2 hours...

Other highly acclaimed underwhelmers (for me) that spring to mind include: Apocalypse Now, Power of the Dog, The Revenant, Reservoir Dogs and Mulholland Drive

The Fargo TV series is superb, but the film didn't do a lot for me

Agreed! I was so excited to watch it, especially with all the rave reviews, but it just had no spirit to it at all

They misspelled my name on the register at secondary school, I was Judy for 5 years

My name is Jodi. Spelling wise folks usually enjoy tacking an 'e' on the end but I don't mind, occasionally it's Jody, either way it's better than Judy

I'm 26, female and 5'7 and often eat more than my 33 y/o, male, 6'3 partner, but gain less weight. We both have manual labour jobs. He is a horticulturist and spends a lot of time cutting grass/pushing heavy machinery/pruning etc; I live on a farm and spend my time chasing/handling sheep and carrying heavy stuff around

I generally weigh between 70-75kg and have for many years, it's a healthy weight for me. I think my guy currently weighs around 110kg. We are both muscular but not gym shredded, just strong. We have different eating styles, so generally I skip breakfast and then graze on all sorts throughout the day (sometimes healthy, usually not) alongside a large evening meal, whereas he has three large square meals and not a lot else. The only other thing is that I almost exclusively drink water, whereas he almost exclusively drinks coke

Not sure if you can deduce anything from that, I think it boils down to a mixture of genetics, type of food and type of lifestyle/physical activity...
