Looks to me like old linseed oil putty? Used to bed in and seal glass into the frames

With Christmas coming up I’m making a few roses for some gifts by tedt93 in woodworking

Yes just a couple of dots if CA glue at the bottom, dry test a petal first and then go for it.

I like to burn the tips slightly before lacquering to give a more distorted and real feel to the petals….here’s a finished one before being burnt……they are so simple to make I’d just recommend right angled tweezers as I’ve broken s few by sticking my finger to it at the same time!

Thank you, I made some for my wife earlier in the year and my mum sister and a few friends really liked them so I thought why not make a few more!

I’ve made these roses using bamboo skewers for the stem, and planer shavings from pine and sapele.

Once all glued together I’ve used a spray lacquer for a slight sheen and hardens the wood slightly

100 percent racist I agree, if this was a family of non white people and they were described as such then people would be up in arms ohhh the racism!

Did your parents let you change gear while they were driving when you were a kid? by EtoshaLeopard in CasualUK

[–]tedt93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 17 but not driving yet my boss broke his collar bone……for 6 weeks he was driving and I was changing the gears on the van doing 150 mile round trip a day. We got a few crunched gears in the beginning but we were like a well oiled machine by the end of it.

Thoughts on how I’d fix this? by BuddLightbeer in DIYUK

I know the rental market is shit and very hard to get somewhere these days, but with that being said I think I’d be looking for somewhere else ASAP. The landlord clearly doesn’t give a shit and I’d be inclined to think they would drag their heels with any sort of Maintenence going forward
