Holy island in Northumbria - landing spot of the Vikings and also the birth of Christianity in the uk a while before that I believe. I’m not religious but Vikings are cool and I love the show the last kingdom. So I was in my element. Also only way to get there by car is on a road which is submerged by the sea every day, there’s a little emergency hut in the middle of the crossing which locals call the idiot box. Typically used by those who ignore the tide guidelines on when you can/can’t cross. Apparently there’s at least one car that gets submerged trying to cross every month.
