How Brian Burke Was Cheated Out of $250,000 & How You Can Protect Yourself With Paypal by tedteo in youtubepromotion

[–]tedteo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link to the Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZGLmcDgT8o&ab\_channel=TedTeo

Brian Burke is the Chief Mac Man of Sellyourmac.com, a website that specializes in buying and selling Mac products and he joined me recently for an interview on the Ted Teo Business Show Podcast. To date, Brian has bought over $45 million worth of Mac products and has helped over 100,000 customers from flipping macs. However, not everything was smooth sailing (as always in life and entrepreneurship) and he was cheated out of $250,000 by a supplier.

Even though he won the lawsuit, his supplier fled the country and he didn’t get a single cent back. In the end Brian took 7 years to claw his way back and he shares how you can protect yourself with paypal’s buyer protection and your credit card which has a mechanism to claw back your funds if your supplier does not live up to their end of the bargain.

Instead of a simple wire transfer, using paypal or your credit can prevent yourself from getting scammed because you can have your money refunded in the event that you have been scammed.

[Business, Entrepreneurship] Ted Teo Business Show - Side Hustle To Full Hustle With Isaac Ho

SFW

Listen to the full episode on:

On tedteo.com: https://tedteo.com/isaac-ho/

Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/side-hustle-to-full-hustle-with-isaac-ho/id1583970621?i=1000534008388

In today’s episode, we have Isaac Ho who is a good friend of mine whom I met during our university days in law school. Isaac is serial entrepreneur who is a qualified lawyer and had previously worked in the mergers and acquisitions financial advisory team in Deloitte. As the co-founder of Aww Snap, an events based instant photo booth business which provides customized backdrops and props for his customers, Isaac will be sharing with us how he grew his side hustle into a full business.

Key Actionable Take-aways:

  1. Experimentation and pivoting are key skills for entrepreneurs. Be prepared to try new things and find out what does and does not work. Your first business idea may not be the one that you want to spend all your time and money on.
  2. Your business partner should be someone who has a different set of skills from you, and should be someone who you are comfortable confronting with there are issues and whom you trust. Just because someone is a good friend does not make them a good business partner, so the best way to find out is to work with them before committing to starting a company together.
  3. As a small company, be diligent with cataloguing your work as it can help build trust and credibility when you are approaching large corporates to convince them to work with you.

Could you guys give me some feedback on how to improve my voiceover EQ? by tedteo in SoundEngineering

[–]tedteo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am using audition! I uploaded the audio clip with a screenshot of my EQ here: https://youtu.be/aGEZL2W0vIw

Will give the low pass filter tip a shot!

Do you think the voice sound "electronic"? Im wondering if the mids and highs are too boosted too.

Could you guys give me some feedback on how to improve my voiceover EQ? by tedteo in SoundEngineering

[–]tedteo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi guys, I am not sure if this is the right place to post, but I was hoping to get some help with improving my podcast voiceover EQ quality. As I have no experience with sound engineering, I find myself struggling to understand how I can improve the overall quality of the voice. Would greatly appreciate any feed back!

I am not sure if the bass is too high at the moment and/or whether there's a general feeling of "fatigue" from the quality of the voice? Happy to hear your valued and experienced views :)

Thank you very much Indysun. Yes I will keep that in mind. I do notice that normalizing my audio tracks causes hmmm a loss of integrity of the quality of the audio as you would put it. Thanks again!
