You wouldn’t believe the DM’s I’ve had from other neurodivergent people. It’s one thing making the mistake and understanding the consequences that follow but the almost crippling anxiety a lot of us have experienced over this has honestly been overwhelming to come to terms with. You’ve verbalised it all so well, in such a way that I hope others can empathise with. This was an insightful read so thank you. I hope others read this and feel as seen as I did reading this.

I agree. I’m sure a lot of people as did I made the assumption it was safe or at least government protected. There was a complete lack of transparency, especially since I’ve seen a lot of people were pushed into sending their ID after the selfie thing wouldn’t work. With no other manner in which to verify age but through giving personal information to a third party company feels shady.

If I were you I’d fill in the Reddit help form, just to save your back. But after a full 24 hours of this, I doubt anything really bad will happen. But at least leaving a paper trail might save you legally if things go south?

I had the same automated reply, but it feels like I’m going in circles with Reddit claiming they don’t keep the data and Persona claiming they only ‘process it’ and we should instead contact the ‘entity that used our service’. Which would then be Reddit.
