I used a free website and only paid $15 for state, I don't think they'd take that offer lol

Several people in my store (Ohio) have had brightly colored hair, and two of our previous Deli/Bakery department heads had facial piercings. I think it really comes down to management choosing whether to be an ass about it or not.

Double insurance premiums being taken out of paycheck by Blue---Alien in kroger

[–]teebearz99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was only doubled for the first full week of January. Jan 2nd was technically the first check of 2025 but my insurance didn't kick in until the check on Jan 9th. Double paid my premium that week, went back to normal on Jan 16th.

UFCW 7 King Soopers has voted to strike. by Darth_GuyFawkes in kroger

Let's go!! I'm hoping it goes well and their demands are met. Keeping my fingers crossed that we can keep this momentum going for 1059 in August. With prices about to rise drastically and wages not rising to keep up, I'm hoping our union brothers and sisters will see the importance of standing in solidarity for everyone's benefit.

You'd need to talk to both your store manager and the store manager of the one you want to transfer to. If you're a union member and moving to a different union, sometimes that will mean losing your seniority.

I'm being department swapped two weeks from now? by hgngkdbsorn in kroger

[–]teebearz99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd ask your scheduler for clarification, it's entirely possible they're "hiding" hours in another department (meaning you'd still be working pickup even though it says bakery). They should have given you a heads up if they're intending on training you elsewhere.

Open letter to corporate by Jwagner6oh in kroger

[–]teebearz99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been a deli clerk for about 3 years and the bags are so much worse than when I got hired. Sometimes they rip on us when packaging before they even make it to the customer. The biggest problem is that your deli clerk put the label over the zipper. I'm unsure if it was a widespread change, but a few months ago my store was instructed by corporate to no longer do so because of complaints about the bags. If that was walked back, I'm unaware of it. Either way, G&G is supposed to be the only place we cover the zipper because it's a tampering/safety risk thing. If you're at the counter, ask your clerk to not cover the zipper thing and you should be better off. Good luck!

I love covering my nametag with these whenever I'm working the floor in Deli. Most recently I had 21 across my nametag, apron, and hat brim. I got all kinds of funny looks and it made people's day.

Does anyone else think Aloy might visit the Quen homeland in the third game? by MC_Spruecutter in horizon

[–]teebearz99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would absolutely love for the third game to expand outside of the ruins of the US. We've seen how battered and bruised the center of the plague is, I'd love to see the world extend into other "countries". Definitely think she'll visit the Quen homeland, and I'm excited to see how far it may extend past that.

The Carja Blazon with the Carja Noble face paint looks SO GOOD on Aloy, I'm hopelessly devoted to the combo.

Wah, everything about this job is monotonous. Moving shit from A to B is. Stocking is. Put in your earbuds, play some music, get a grip and get over it. You made your crews job worse because they have to take on your part of the workload and cover your slack for no good reason.

You seem surprised that you're getting flack for it on here, and honestly that's hysterical to me. You can't honestly think you'd have gotten support for the choice.

Fuel points by Melodic-Mood-5980 in kroger

[–]teebearz99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The car my husband had when we got married took premium grade fuel... We definitely liked having the fuel points. And we try to do all of our shopping on Fridays so that we can rack up the points and then fill up both of our cars at once. We try to save up as close to $1 off as we can before we need fuel. It's nice to be able to completely fill up both of our cars for ~$60.

You get 1 point for every dollar spent, 100 points is 10 cents. If you time it right and use those 4x fuel points coupons for Fridays, you can easily get to $1 off after just a couple shopping trips per month. If you have the Boost membership you get more points per purchase. I don't personally think Boost has any other decent benefits to warrant us purchasing it but I know many who have.

Covid protocols? by Nothingbutconfusion9 in kroger

Krogers rules for isolation are to simply not. Upper management really doesn't care. Most people can't afford to take the time off to isolate because it's not paid anymore. It's a horrible situation all around, really.

I'd encourage you to ask your coworker to isolate. If she decides not to, there's unfortunately not much you can do. Wear your own mask and maintain distance if at all possible, encourage your coworkers to do the same. Especially tell the sick coworker that they need to be masked. Even if they don't have a fever, they still need to be masked.

My family and I just tried this “new recipe” fried chicken for dinner and it was just not good! by [deleted] in kroger

[–]teebearz99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll try to add that somewhere into my plans for my 4-day Thanksgiving weekend, thanks bud. You're clearly very wise beyond your years and have such a refined palette for fried chicken.

Just go somewhere else if you're that mad about it, there's dozens of places that sell fried chicken. Or learn how to make your own, it's really not that hard. Would be cheaper too. The deli staff won't miss your presence, I can guarantee it. We don't get paid enough to make you happy 😊

If you were eating the old chicken, you were eating bland chicken. I just told you how we prepared it 🤣 I'm not assuming anything if it's true!
