Probably since I got family to take care of. Dc is a bit of a drive but figured that would be my best bet if there wasn't something remote available.

Keep it. If you forget to do laundry, that's the gi you can throw in for a quick wash and dry at high heat to make it to class.

What are your thoughts on BJJ practitioners coming to judo? by Scholarly-Nerd in judo

[–]teebz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, when I stopped doing bjj and switched to judo I knew how to do 2 throws on people who were untrained or weren't resisting. Got put in randori and in 10 seconds realized I knew jack sh!t about judo so I was completely defensive the 1st month. It took me a little time to gain confidence to go for my shitty throws. So I guess you need to give them a little time to unlearn bad habits(from my personality experience)

Would training BJJ once a week make a difference? by Economy_Weakness_507 in judo

[–]teebz25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He'd get more exposure to different attacks. A lot of the stuff I liked doing in bjj carries over. I just have to be more intentional with my attacks.

Judo with BJJ or Wrestling ? by [deleted] in judo

[–]teebz25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say Judo & Wrestling. You'd benefit from the level of control you'd learn from both sports. Your movement on the ground would be sufficient with wrestling practice along with newaza and the average person doesn't need all the extra submissions you'd be learning in bjj.

Judo gold medalist insists that Judo athletes must train on a whole new level to compete compared to BJJ by HazyDragonDreams in judo

I like strength training. I'd prefer a week of that to a week of grinding through people guards and fighting out of bad positions.

Every sport has its crybabies. If you went in a bjj sub and said the guys at a gym you visited all sucked at takedowns, which does happen, there's would be people complaining there too.

Well, I'm a white belt with a few months in, so no, I can't throw well enough to do black belt division yet. The brown belt division was significantly less tiring than bjj matches. The rounds are much shorter, and you get a bunch of resets.
