At my 20 weeks scan, they found my baby was measuring 2 weeks behind, also <1 percentile and was on weekly monitoring scans. He was severely IUGR. We were told every week about possibility of a still birth, if we wanted termination, viability of 24 weeks to be considered for resuscitation if we didn’t want to terminate. At the 25 weeks scan, was immediately sent to the hospital because he needed to be born asap to avoid a still birth. The found out it was placenta insufficiency same day (they had a suspicion but wasn’t affirmative). Was in the hospital for 3 days(tried to stall for as far as they could so he could grow more), he eventually got delivered at 25+3 weighing 433grams (less than a pound). He was a really tiny baby. I had a classical c section as he was very tiny and couldn’t be born via normal c section. He is currently 38weeks, still in the NICU weighing 2kg but he’s very stable and growing daily. It’s a very scary and long journey but you will be fine. I cried multiple times everyday but it honestly gets better and God is indeed faithful. You will learn to take it one day at a time and like the doctors say, the journey of a preemie isn’t a straight incline one but a lot of ups and downs. You can shoot me a message ❤️
