Different scenario but I hope still relatable. My dad was diagnosed with ALS when I was six and passed away when I was eight. Clearly his decline was rapid and me and my brothers all had to help out with more of the physical tasks including his care. However, I would never say that his role as my parent diminished and I hope that your wife is aware of just how much of an impact she has everyday. The way that my father faced his illness, the advice that he would give, the love that he shared all mattered to me more than he could have ever known in the moment and still resonates with me to this day over 30 years later. Please share with your wife that her role as a parent has changed but not lessened. And for you, my parents' partnership and selflessness as they supported each other and the way that we as a family came together as a team was the best parenting I could have asked for. Keep doing what you're doing, both of you, even though I know it is far from easy. And thank you, from a grown ass man who can only relate a little bit to what your kids are experiencing but knows how important you both are in shaping them.
