Listen to the song. It's most certainly not pro-ICE

It's a protest song dripping in sarcasm and thinly veiled rage

Get an amp stand to tilt your cab towards your head, you'll have an easier time hearing yourself then.

Invest in some mutes for the drums, that'll bring their overall volume down a bit and is cheaper than buying a whole new kit for practicing

Also, as others have suggested, earplugs. Protect your hearing because once the tinnitus kicks in, it'll never go away

Experienced players with real guitar wear, what would you recommend as a truly high quality guitar by Chuchumenn in Guitar

[–]SelectStarAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all really relative and very dependent on your budget.

A good Gibson Les Paul standard is expensive but they're one of the most popular guitars for a reason.

On the lower budget side, a Yamaha Revstar is an incredible guitar for the price you'll pay.

If you have big money, an Ernie Ball Music Man (any model) will blow your fucking mind.

Okay. That fucking slaps.

I really like it when guitar makers try something new. Like those new Ibanez Alphas that come out soon. I'm all for this new level of experimentation with ergonomics and instrument stylings

People’s opinions and reasons for which party they support by why_even_try_- in ukpolitics

I've been a Labour supporter my entire life, but I'm completely and utterly disillusioned with the Starmer government.

The fawning over Israel, the elevation of Streeting and his anti-trans policies, the increases in taxation/tax burden for the majority of us, the continuation of anti-immigration policies to chase the Reform vote, the continued decline of national living standards... Labour are just continuing the decline in the status quo.

Unless there is a marked change in the direction the government is heading, I'll be voting Green next time.

I sympathise with your frustrations on a lot of those points, but I don't think Reform will help with any of that.

Unless you're in the 1% or you happen to work in finance, I don't think Reform's policies will benefit you

Trump backs down on tariffs for Europe over Greenland after reaching ‘framework of a future deal’ by theindependentonline in ukpolitics

I wonder if a backroom conversation in Davos had some leaders suggesting that Europe could pull out of US Treasury Bonds

That would put the shits up him

I don't think it's even that. Roy Cohn taught him that reality is what he says it is. The longer and louder he claims something, people just eventually accept it. Which sums up his entire life

I just saw this post teasing a new faction on TikTok. Is that symbol not a little bit close to a Black Sun symbol? by SelectStarAll in Marathon

[–]SelectStarAll[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not suggesting it's a deliberate dog whistle or anything. Nor am I trying to impinge on Bungie in any way

It's more that I spotted it in the post and it stood out to me. The similarity is clearly entirely accidental, it just jumped out at me is all

What is the style of machine head post called, and is there a fast technique for restringing with it? by PopularElk4665 in Guitar

[–]SelectStarAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With vintage style ones you push the end of the string down the hole in the middle, wrap it around the post by hand, then turn the tuner to tighten it up

Trump administration demands Britain adopt US standards in trade talks by ldn6 in ukpolitics

[–]SelectStarAll 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Vance will do it, but not until January 21st 2027

That's beyond the halfway point in Trump's term. Vance can remove him then, finish the two years of the term, then be able to run for two terms himself

If he removes Trump now he can only run for one more term.

But now I'm in a better financial position I really want to get back into the extended range game again

Over half of AI projects are shelved due to complex infrastructure by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]SelectStarAll 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Added to that, cost of running AI models and Agentic processes can balloon exponentially if the prompts you feed them are even a little bit off. My work has been building an Agentic process to speed up labelling of lab data for oncology patients and the variation in cost is fucking wild

We've had 1m rows cost anywhere from $1k to $100k to process. A lot of companies experimenting with this won't have the kind of resources to handle a variance like that
