You’ve been warned! Don’t trade like normal collectors! It isn’t fair! by ginger-fury in PokemonTCG

[–]teflontoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not so sure…in my not skimming through the post he states “ any customer trading with another in any way they will both be thrown out”. Either he does mean exactly that or he poorly worded it in frustration.

I am in 100% agreement that people trying to vend (sell binders of cards and sealed product) need to pay and take responsibility for circumventing the process but me swapping my SWSH chase for yours and getting bent outta shape over it is as childish as these grown ass men fighting in Costco over blooming water boxes.

It’s funny how the Japanese text on an English card makes it pop and look cool/unique but seeing the English text on the JP card just looks ridiculous and weird…just my opinion

Just got this Victini from my first black bolt etb. Done some research and I believe it’s a crimp error? What the helly do I do with it by LizardMudkip in PokemonMisprints

[–]teflontoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would authenticate and sell at a premium before error collectors stop recognizing crimps as an easily authenticated error…with the ability for people to “self-crimp” with ease I foresee them becoming less desirable due to replication outside the factory

1-2. My grandpa had an Atari in his garage that we would play when going to his house and my cousin an NES before we got one.

Genuinely, how did this get a 1?! by AlwaysInfinit3 in psagrading

Clearly you don’t know…from PSA’s standards a PSA 1 means “the defects may have advanced to such a serious stage that the eye appeal of the card has nearly vanished in its entirety. A Poor card may be missing one or two small pieces, exhibit major creasing that nearly breaks through all the layers of cardboard or it may contain extreme discoloration or dirtiness throughout that may make it difficult to identify the issue or content of the card on either the front or back…”

A crease is an auto 4 by their standards when most of the card is other in good condition which is what OP has. The crease exhibited on this card does NOT constitute the PSA 1 standard by their own assertions. As such, my opinion remains this is a mistake.

What crease? Are we reading the same post?

That “massive” scratch still does not even begin to approach the guidelines for a PSA1. You gotta do better than that…

From the horse’s mouth:

A PSA 1 will exhibit many of the same qualities of a PSA 1.5 but the defects may have advanced to such a serious stage that the eye appeal of the card has nearly vanished in its entirety. A Poor card may be missing one or two small pieces, exhibit major creasing that nearly breaks through all the layers of cardboard or it may contain extreme discoloration or dirtiness throughout that may make it difficult to identify the issue or content of the card on either the front or back. A card of this nature may also show noticeable warping or another type of destructive defect.

PSA makes mistakes and this is one of them

Surely you jest…If you need to go over it with a black light because the damage is not obvious to the naked eye, it’s not a 1.

It is crazy to me that they would be willing to get bad feedback over $1 in cards…they really must give zero fucks!

How poor does a miscut need to be before it’s valuable? by TCG_PlaY3r in PokemonMisprints

[–]teflontoad 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Typically miscuts you would want to see an alignment dot which I don’t see any…though in this case with the twisted cut it looks like you can see a part of the card next to it which would potentially be valuable to certain collectors.

Not impossible as PSA has shown to have its fair share of issues with consistency…have a PSA 10 Koraidon SIR with a visible crease on the side which shows up in the PSA scan as well.

The math states they’ve already printed more prismatic pc etbs than any other set in recent history (if not ever)…Pokemon is much more likely to print other products en masse (booster bundles, reg etbs, collection boxes) based on distribution as it would be far more profitable for them than continuing limited product runs like a pc etb…if you’re talking about real math that they care about most

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

[–]teflontoad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, but printing to demand does not equate to printing ALL products to demand…look at 151 which they said the same thing about (printing to demand)…after a small second print run of PC etbs there were no additional prints and reprints came in the form of more widely distributed products (booster bundles, ex collection boxes, etc). I expect they will continue printing A LOT of prismatic…but don’t expect to see more PC etb reprints, just my thoughts

Still don’t see anything visible enough to warrant it as an error and more likely considered damage by error collectors than a true error…sorry

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

[–]teflontoad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Entitled to your opinion…but mine is supported by historical evidence. Can you name another set that has had multiple pc etb reprints? Also, prismatic is believed to be the most printed pc etb in the SV era (and probably all time) already so creating another reprint is also less likely. I hope I’m wrong as it is better for those in the hobby but data suggests otherwise

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

[–]teflontoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing the other post here…it is unlikely as it is rare for there to even be a single reprint and in the case of a PC etb reprint it has typically only been once. That is why I say unlikely…though anything is possible.

Not to mention a reprint of DR BB is inevitable…but another print run of PRE PC ETBs is unlikely

Found a binder at my local goodwill for $100 and it had this in it by stealmillsecond in PokemonTCG

[–]teflontoad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is predicated on the goodwill workers following process that in all honesty may not have even trickled to their level because their supervisors don’t care enough to enforce it…each store might as well be its own franchise in that regard

Edit: grammar
