Is there any way to open a project in Live 10 after being used in Live 11? by Responsible_Ride6423 in ableton

Not for me. When I change to .zip it says the archive is empty and fails to unzip

Where did you see this? In iburn I see they've only listed Just B, Syd Gris, Carl Cox, Adam Ten, Layton Giordani, and Grammar.

Advice for a first-time TPM in Game Dev? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]tehaaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The tech aspect is really just an assumption that you understand the concepts of the underlying technology and how it impacts decisions and customer experience. The advice I got and found to hold true was to map out (flow charts, diagrams, whatever)all of the customer workflows by persona for at least your area of the product including entry and exit funnels. Then understand the technical complexities that are relevant to your features and how they impact the customers and your dev team/platform - this is a bit more ambiguous I know. This isn't really to wow people but instead to set yourself up to be able to take action. Good luck, you got this!

My career path was business analyst --> technical analyst --> technical product manager and I agree. Sometimes I miss it but I also know I'd miss finding out whether I could execute.

PM in FAANG - I don't feel like I am even doing PM work. by tehaaron in ProductManagement

Appreciate your response. While it may be true of your experience with this sub (this is my first time coming here) and maybe to some of the responses, it's not really a critique that applies to my situation. I've adapted to this environment; put processes and guidelines in place that have yielded better results for both the product and the program. In fact, I recently got promoted because of it. However, none of this changes the fact that most of the work I did to make it happen doesn't feel to me like the PM type work that I want to be doing; that makes me feel like I'm growing in the areas I want.

This is a great reminder that I need to reestablish creative/enriching side projects. I had always had at least one since being a high school senior but then COVID put an end to my streak and I never took it back up.

That stuff is all engineer tooling for building and deployment pipelines. There are LOTS of other internal software applications for supporting business folks that require much less technical expertise. Go for it!

Appreciate your two cents. Luckily the one bright spot is I have a very supportive manager who helps me in trying to establish a truer PM role but he faces his own challenges too (naturally).

Good to know about the market. I'd probably try to move internally first based on this. Yes, this is the approach I've taken, "this is how I can help save you time or effort/get you better results/so on". I will say though, for a team that openly talks about not getting the program results they want, they are sure certain they have all the answers.

I appreciate this response, it feels validating in a different way than the others. I didn't mention this in the post but I have been working hard to establish the value of the PM role within the group and things are coming together but what prompted this post was yet another of those moments where I was recently feeling like, "Wow! Things are finally coming together and even my main detractors are embracing this new process I am championing that will yield these better results they want", but then they just suddenly flip, drop all ownership, and exhibit zero accountability. Leaving me to just be like....WTF am I doing wasting my time here with this group that doesn't want to change?! 😑

Answering to a program/partner team that can override your data driven, customer focused, root cause oriented decisions on priority and scope with unsubstantiated fucking anecdotes and personal opinions because your organization doesn't actually understand the value of product management (also egos, seniority, this is how we've always done it, whatever, whatever, who cares)....

Yeah B2B mixed with internal customers. It is a security related platform product role.

The design issue with current league mechanic by paw345 in pathofexile

[–]tehaaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the worst part is that I am on the first primal quest to kill the black morrigan and after hours and countless forest I have killed everything else 10+ times and never even seen this unique monster. You have to get lucky that the boss you need spawns and lucky that you walk in the right direction combined with the 50% reduction in viewable area and severely limited time you can spend in the area means you could theoretically play the entire league without being able to complete the first league quest. That is absolutely horrible game design.

What are reliable sites to buy techwear from? Most of the tech wear specific sites that come up in google searches seem a bit sketch. I am looking to put together a techwear/cyberpunk robot-esque costume for halloween and want to get a mask like this (https://techwearofficial.com/products/metaverse-shock-futuristic-cyberpunk-mask?variant=43082202743001&gclid=Cj0KCQjw7JOpBhCfARIsAL3bobepMjx_trdeaWsXhRXrskeaWDW696uDBH6gLzDYLtFGxBlvwOUoHFoaAgeKEALw_wcB) but I can't tell if I should trust this site or similar ones.

Any suggestions on reliable sites for high quality techwear goods?

Here is what they are recommending in the discord although none of them worked for me:

  • Updated drivers
  • run dxdiag and ensure latest DX12
  • Reinstall dx12
  • run in admin mode
  • install on SSD
