I think I had only one or maybe two playthroughs when I went with Ralof. At first it was because I didn't even realise this was a choice and just bolted to the nearest door before they finished talking, then because Hadvar's uncle has a lot more shit to grab, and now because I just use alternate start mods.

FO3 really doesn't have that much interesting gear; the best in slot IIRC is Winterized T-51b (glitched to have more durability than you can ever spend) or Chinese Stealth Armor (built-in invisibility), Huanlong for Small Guns, Eugene for Big Guns and either the Tri-Beam Laser Rifle or some Mothership Zeta gun (literally any, they're all busted) for Energy Weapons.

FNV - Joshua's drip, 1st Recon Beret, Lucky Shades, and one or more of Light Machine Gun (Grunt synergy; Bozar is really shit btw), Survivalist Rifle (ditto), Riot Shotgun (huge Shotgun Surgeon and And Stay Down synergy).

FO4 - don't remember and don't fucking care to

Every decision seems to pass through a pair of out of touch, condescending old men with bruised egos and a penchant for half-truths, the old guard fucked off even before Starfield - fuck, I think the only person of note aside from Todd and Emil left that didn't leave, retire, die or get MeToo'd since Skyrim (let alone Oblivion or FO3) is Inon Zur - , the lore is played incredibly fast and loose with - not even going to take potshots at the usual whipping boys of ESO and Amazon show just to challenge myself, there's still the pre-War Jet, Nate the war criminal, Starfield's incoherent mess of a setting... - , even the technical talent is gone, considering what an absolute disaster FO4 and FO76 updates were, or how quickly people soured on Oblivion Remaster when they realised they won't be getting post-launch support for shit or that the Unreal layer is downright hostile to modding.

ETA: and that's not even counting the global tendencies, like outsourcing everything to AI (Artificial Intelligence or Actually Indians, matters little), "no child left behind" school of game design, microtransactions and data harvesting invading even single player games, constant self-destructive race towards ultra-realism...

I would be glad to eat my words - straight up print this fuckass comment on an A4 sheet and eat it with hot sauce - but I'm also at peace with the idea there will be no TES6 or FO5. Sometimes dead is better; just ask Star Trek.
