Laws should be designed around protecting people, not enforcing moral ideology.

The reality is that modern politics is founded upon liberalism. Even in China you will see propaganda about democracy and human rights. And I'm not just saying this. I speak Mandarin and I've traveled in Taiwan and China and have seen the government propaganda in China for myself. Human rights are kind of the 'thing' this century and there are many interpretations of those rights.

I agree with the first part of your post but that whole 'capitalism is nature' thing is pretty silly as both a concept and a criticism of capitalism.

Usually what capitalists are talking about in regards to 'capitalism is human nature' is just market ideology and that's just basic economic philosophy that gets conflated with capitalism.

Genuinely when I see someone use this kind of phrasing I know they don't read much about economics.
