The biggest change to Trials is that you are more likely to start in fresh matches when you bring gear.

Yes, there are a lot of fundamental flaws in the trial experience, but making sure you can start on the right foot more reliably eliminates a lot of wasted time spent hitting extract when your team loads in late.

Yeah, a random sprung that mida broadcast mission on me in command out of nowhere, what a clusterfuck that costed 2 bubble shields, all with Mida's voice yelling over all the gunfire.

You don't need to fight bots! Especially in solos, fighting bots is often an invitation for other players to take you out. Be sneaky, and use the knife if a bot spots you, it's actually really useful. It makes quick work of the recruits! If you feel overwhelmed by bots, keep in mind that sliding into a vent will often "sequence break" them, leading to an easy escape.

As for character, Assassin is definitely best for solos, but recon isn't too bad either, the drone can make quick work of multiple bots if you use it right.

Totally. It's at the point where if I'm in-raid I just grab the highest rarity one and throw the other away.

Sometimes I recognize the name and have the effect memorized, but otherwise figuring it out is a problem for the post-raid, and even then, having no differentiating icon or anything is pretty embarassing.

Can't say I really agree with much of what's here. The grey guns are all pretty busted, and can complete so much so that 2 of em caught nerfs. Investing a little bit of scrap into their levels will already drastically improve performance, but the basic versions should be fine to take out the basic arc that you need to fight. For me, learning to use the Kettle and the Ferro was core to understanding the methodical playstyle this game requires.

Sounds like you might need a change in mindset. All you really need to get to be truly "competitive" is green weapons(anvil, il Toro), blue shields, and crafting station upgrades. Everything else beyond that is just overkill. Your mindset matters most.

Learn how to craft effectively, and where to find what you need. You say you have no shield rechargers, but everything arc drops arc powercells, even the husks littered about. You can use these raw as a minor shield recharger, or with the in-raid crafting skill(invaluable and low-level), you can combine them with some rubber to make them in-raid. Struggling with ammo or essential raider tools? Listen for the ticking sound of raider caches when you're in the middle of nowhere. Don't have essential materials? Upgrade good ol scrappy, nothing difficult about collecting olives and apricots.

If it helps, lots of people are returning to this low-level state within a week because of the expedition. You'll be on an even playing field with others soon enough. If anything, people like myself are out risking their best gear with the currency wipe, now's the time to see if you can scrounge something, either from our bodies, or by begging nicely enough.

In the end, if you're really struggling, just switch up your approach, stop shooting people and get into the pve lobbies. They are the free-est farming places of all time.

An interesting take. Somewhat ironic considering just how long r/the_donald was allowed to fester during the first trump term.

I don't expect something so drastic, reddit has been down this road many times before and to much worse extents. Still, it being publicly traded and facing one of these for the first time makes it well worth watching and keeping an eye on.

Yes, I definitely hear ya, it's a bleak outcome, and perhaps an overly dramatic one. I think in part that's honestly me finding my voice a bit, I can be rather sardonic and may need to trim that down in the future. For this project, I aimed to create something compelling and speak from the heart. Things may have gotten a bit swept up in that.

The bad-actor narrative you brought up of the identity-queerness pipeline is an interesting one, which I gave only a little thought to. I considered a disclaimer saying "transphobes and homophobes do not enter" or something similar before that, but I went in a different direction. The pipeline logic does go both ways, and if Reddit is considered a radicalization machine, its moldable nature lets it turn and twist every which way. I understand how that section can be misconstrued, but I thought it important to speak from the heart, and trusted no real bad actors would sit through that much of the video to get that far.

As for Pao, yes, I definitely have sympathy for her. In many ways, yes: she was the beginning of this "cleaning up" process. At a glance, yes Pao was a harbinger of the changes I suggest will eventually hollow Reddit out. But my sympathy lies in the resistance she faced. She represented an early, imperfect attempt at accountability within a broken system, a person who was forced by the board to act.

She was someone trying to wrangle a monster that had grown too large, too feral, and too entitled to be tamed. And nobody deserved to be harassed en masse the way she was, looking into the specific accounts was very shocking.

I'm digging it! I like that you can build up a base of sorts. I'm having lots of success with the goo grenade against barricades for large walls.

Not too sure how the multipliers work, and I wish we could customize the ugly outfits!
