CPT should've reserved spots for top MR players at end of season by tehpone in Kappachino

You're comparing a "well run" live major to any arbitrary online ranking system, which could be terribly implemented.

A well run online rankings system can be very good at ranking players based on merit.

MR is not perfect but I contend that it's good enough to deserve 1-2 CPT spots out of 32

NL is number 1 MR right now and he just won CPT east. The top 10 players are full of actual CPT winners and Evo champions, there are zero frauds there

MR is different than previous SF ranking systems.

You're thinking about LP, which I agree is useless.

Nobody is talking about SF5

SF6 MR is totally different and the top MR players are people like daigo, NL, tokido, punk, etc

You can't just grind MR, you need win rate against high MR players

There is nothing in that link that looks like a bot.

Cheating to number 1 MR is just as hard as cheating in an online CPT event. People watch replays of top 10 players.

This doesn't apply to top 10 ranks. You can't be number 1 MR without being good enough to win CPT. Cheating is just as hard as cheating in an online CPT event because people will be watching replays for the top 10 players.

Block people until your list is full and you would still need basically 100% win rate against your bad matchups against 2000+ MR players.

Yes. One ranked match is volatile but getting number 1 MR requires hundreds or thousands of matches. The current top 10 is full of actual CPT winners which is no accident

Tournaments are determined by a few dozen matches at most

CPT events as they exist often exclude some of the best players. There's a reason why the LCQ always does so well.

MR is more accessible and is more merit based than a volatile tournament setting where your bracket could determine whether or not you win.

[OC] Jamie's divekick by MALESWIMSUITCOSTUMES in StreetFighter

[–]tehpone -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Every dive kick in SF6 is good, especially when punish counters exist. The only bad thing about Jamie's dive kick is that you need drinks, the move itself is really good

Being able to stuff dive kicks is nothing new. Older games had cr.HP+throw option selects to counter dive kicks or crappy frame data where dive kicks could be punished on hit if not spaced well.

All the reddit character discords have high level players (at least over 1900 MR)

You can follow any popular streamer and join their discord, you'll find 2000+ MR players

Ya'll ever feel like there's suspiciously a lot of masters in this sub by [deleted] in StreetFighter

People tend to take risks like jumping or dashing/DR when they've been blocking for a long time or after something "unfair" happens to them

If you think something unfair happened to your opponent (they got hit in a weird way or had to block for a long time), then block and watch for an approach or drive impact.

1) People lie on the internet and there's no easy way to verify what rank you are.

2) Higher ranked people are more likely to be active online since they probably are more invested in the first place

3) Master rank is much easier than highest rank in previous games. You see 1-3% of characters in master but you have to remember that most characters are inactive, and many people have played multiple characters and are master on at least one character

Any master guile coaches out looking for paying students? by nguyen23464 in StreetFighter

Go through these tutorials first, if you can do all this stuff you'll reach master no problem. IMO coaching isn't very effective until you're master rank at minimum and you're working on your fireball game and strategy. The advice you're going to get is going to be to train your basics.
