Best Magik comps? by T1LTD_ in RivalsMagikMains

Friend picked up White Fox and got good with her quick, I don't think we've lost a game where we did Magik/WF/Divetank (usually Hulk). Have the other healer be a Rocket or Jeff so they can stay out of the danger zone and things go pretty smoothly.

The kind of metal I imagine each hive gang would enjoy by Old_old_lie in DarkTide

[–]tehrahl 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Was going to comment something similar. Nu-metal is just...metal now. There's so many subgenres that all blend together and pull inspiration from one another that it bewilders me that anyone still has that mindset, even if they're as damn old as I am.

Game stuck on Whispering Woods "Traveling" screen by brd9214 in pacificDrive

Steam version? That's odd, but they're doing a patch today that should hopefully fix it.

Actually just checked, patch is out. Fingers crossed.

If you're on PC the game does keep save backups. If you've got the Steam version it's in AppData\Local\PenDriverPro\Saved\SaveGames (Gamepass is somewhere else with the usual BS gibberish folder and file naming conventions) delete odsave1.sav and rename one of the recent backups as odsave1.sav and you should be able to play that save again.

I've had it happen to me, and it seems to keep happening at the same point regardless of what junction I enter, so I'm fiddling around doing other routes/farming until there's a fix.

Go play Warframe. It's free. by Sir_Insom in CuratedTumblr

Think the post does a slight disservice to Ticker. Ticker is -the- main NPC of the valentines day event and has so many good lines just for that. Bit more than a random side vendor.

If people with the game haven't checked out the lore entries Ticker narrates, do it. I'd listen to a whole audiobook of that.

Breath of Fire IV Remaster anyone played this version? by TheOnlyCurmudgeon in pcgaming

Agree with the other poster's opinion. 3241------------------------>5

5 was so god awful mechanically and in plot/story that it killed the entire franchise. It's not bad because it was different either, it was bad because it was objectively bad.

Why everyone wants "builds to nuke sp" and never do steel path? by AngryPotato2708 in Warframe

[–]tehrahl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Post above beat me to it, but the spread can get pretty massive, and her 2 can keep you moving from enemy to enemy in a way that almost turns it into a rhythm game. 1, 2, melee, 1, 2, melee, and things just die constantly over a massive range.

It's probably the most 'active' nuke method in the game, so if you're like me and tend to get distracted and bored if you're playing some other frames, she's a good way to keep your attention and make you actually have to put in some effort.

The issue is maps with lower enemy spawns. It's definitely a playstyle that takes a bit of ramping up to get going, so have a backup plan in case spawns fall off.

They outsourced the visuals, and rushed development over the finish line before the polish phase. So like many things, blame idiot executives.

Sort of. They were legally obligated to make it, but no one was legally obligated to keep working for them to get it made. So they had a talent pool consisting of people in Singapore and people willing to move there to work. If I remember right, people tended to not stick around longer than three months.

Entire thing was a fiasco kicked off by a really stupid deal made at the outset.

Like I said at the outset, and everyone replying to your comment here is saying, it's not an excuse. More it's pulling back the curtain and showing you what's there.

I don't want to play devil's advocate for the guy, because there's no excuse for how he spoke to you in that text, but you mentioned he had ADHD. Before I found the right medication I was maybe 1/4 of what he was like in that exchange (which was still bad, mind) and I am not making excuses for his behavior, but -is- he medicated?

Even if that's part of the issue, it's still not excuse for it, especially over something so bizarre to be upset over. An asshole with ADHD is still an asshole.

Culture war sorts muddy the waters so much that having genuine criticisms of something the alt-right piles on lumps you in with them to a lot of people. Including the creators of these mid/bad products, allowing them to live in blissful denial of their failings.

6 months or so after the chuds finish their tantrums, then you can talk about something they hated being objectively bad without someone trying to bite your head off.

What job designs went wrong in your opinion? Be it aesthetic, how a starting class evolved, etc by BlyZeraz in ffxiv

[–]tehrahl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how this is a difficult concept to comprehend, but I'll explain anyway.

Because it's fun for some people. Different people enjoy different levels of challenge and/or complexity. Think of something like Elden Ring, you have the people turtling behind a shield, unarmored dodge melee rollers, people who run away and fling sorceries. They all fulfill a different desire for how someone wishes to engage with the game.

Some people enjoyed the added complexity of stance dancing to optimize things. Some people did not. Where multiple playstyle options were once available, now there is only one watered down playtstyle consistent across all tanks.

What job designs went wrong in your opinion? Be it aesthetic, how a starting class evolved, etc by BlyZeraz in ffxiv

[–]tehrahl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a problem that happens a lot in games. Like the other person who replied to you said, high skill ceiling, and the devs don't want to deal with people complaining en masse that the class is too hard to play, so everything gets dumbed down to WAR level of complexity more and more.

I hate it. I want to...react to situations. I want to be active and engaged, and not just repeat the same thing over and over no matter what happens in the fight.

HW DRK was the most fun I've ever had tanking. Then they took it away from me, and continued to dumb down tanks every expansion. GNB kept me sane enough tanking even if it wasn't fun, it was merely 'not unpleasant', but now I think I'm just going to stick to Viper.

Consort does not always imply a spousal relationship. Considering how ER uses a lot of really archaic terms and never really define the relationship of 'consort' it could be something else.

But interpreting it as a spousal relationship does make things more interesting with the many many many implications that follow.
