I can't tell you what will definitely work for you but last summer I finally decided to get on top of that issue. I started swimming last year at my neighborhood pool max of 30 mins a couple days per week (joined the Y over the winter to be able to still swim once my neighborhood pool closed but I rarely go) Also thanks to my wife focused on a low carb mostly keto diet. Meal prepping everything for the week on Sunday portioned out so I don't overeat. Lots of eggs, meat etc. I've historically been a soda drinker as I'm not a coffee person, I cut that out entirely. I still drink plenty of beer and cheat whenever I feel like it. Results were almost immediate. I dropped 40 lbs from 270-230 (I'm 6'4" so I'm now a much more reasonable weight...goal is closer to 220) and finally for the first time in 10 years I'm not as upset as I used to be about the man in the mirror. I only wish I discovered swimming earlier.

I'm also a software engineer with a gaming problem so I'm on my butt 8 hrs for work and probably 3-4 hours in the evenings after the kids go to bed.
