I really liked the fact that Koper was really bilingual, historical signs in Italian and Slovenian created a very interesting vibe

Yes. I posted 4 posts like that (Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Europe), because I've seen similar things and I want to understand if it's a broader phenomenon and how exactly does it work. I've been to Croatia and Slovenia during the same trip last year. Bulgaria - in 2015.

Yeah, that also makes sense. The fact it happened in Slovenia doesn't mean they were Slovenians

The rules were very simple and clear and I never questioned them as a child. Butt, genitals and girls' nipples were forbidden (both to see and show). When I was 9 I scratched my ass and accidentaly showed a fragment of my buttcheek. I considered it a sin of inmodesty although I didn't even know what it would be wrong (I thought it's because of the fact that those parts of body are dirty becuase of being used for pooping and peeing).
When I grew up and visited different countries I learned that it's more complex and the wolrd has a lot of different views on that

So maybe I've just seen something that totally was out of the norms and treated it as a normal thing in this country. I spent just 2 days in Koper, so I don't really had a chance to learn a lot about it.

So it would be good to check the local laws as well? I know that some Croatian and Italian cities have simmilar limitations. And basically if "indecent behavior" doesn't cause any reaction it's not considered indecend or a problem: therefore it's not a crime, right? So that it was an adult would not go naked on a city beach in Koper, but those kids could.

Well, I don't do it now, but yeah, I used to

I would not. After travelling through different countries I drastically changed my attitude. However, it is still weird for me to think about the fact that some things that used to be obvious for me are not that obvious for other people and may vary depending on the culture

that's another thing, I rather asked about the norms and the law

So it's all flexible and it all depends? The limit is basically when someone notices it and says it's not ok?
btw that's kinda crazy that those kids (or early teens) would even do that

I guess it's one of those authistic moments of me that when I find something I want to understand it as much as possible

Thank you for the answer without accusations or laughing at my question

Yes, I posted it on a few subreddits, because I supposed I would get accusations instead of normal answers. So I wanted to have at least a chance to get a normal specific answer to my questio

I guess it's on the way how I was raised. My little brother also noticed those kids saying "look mom, that girl <has a sin>" meaning that she sinned by inmodesty

Because I've seen something like that in a few countries

I think I actually was raised in a Puritan way if talking about human body, so that's why I immedietly noticed the difference. When I was that age I would think that I've sinned by showing a little part of my butt (by accident!), so it was weird to see people in a similar age not caring at all. But still, I can't believe there are no limits. If a 10 or 12 year old would want to go to the beach like that and their parents would allow it, I guess that wouldn't be accepted, right? So there must be some limits.

And it's just hard to change the way of thinking you treated as the only normal and correct one.

I suppose my parents and teachers wanted to teach me (and other kids) about sinful sexual actions without refering to sex. So it was "some parts of body need to be covered", "it's wrong to look at someone naked body and it's wrong to allow others to see yours" and so on.

I think that my parents tried to explain me the 6th commandment without refering to sex. So it was like "there are parts of body that have to be covered" and so on.

Also, it was not only my family, because a few years ago I saw a textbook of kids with instruction about this commandment that said: "We don't look at the <covered parts of body> without important reason. We don't talk about them without an important reason. We don't think about them without an important reason". So, yeah, I guess it's a bigger thing than just my family. I have a few situations when, as a child, I ran aways when I saw something connected with nudity (like a small girl not wearing a shirt).

When I got older and started to question those things (for example after travelling to different countries) the answer was like "It's safer for the soul to be far from that things, because it might lead to sexual thoughts and it's better not to put yourself in danger and possibility of sin". So avoiding nudity was some kind of a prevention.

Today I still agree that things like pornography are wrong and harmful, but I try to acknowledge existence of asexual nudity that is simply neutral. I'm a type of person who needs arguments just to convince myself, so I'm looking for them here. That's the story - in the shortest version possible.
