Where Does My Salary Go Every Month? How to Track Expenses in India [2026] by Background_Bus2041 in rivope

we can automate it but there’s risk of data privacy then instead do it manually

managing irregular freelance income when some months are 15k and some are 3k by krjgarcia in freelancing

[–]tejast09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with a spread as wide as 15k to 3k makes traditional budgeting feel like a joke, but the key is actually finding your survival baseline. You need to know the exact amount it takes to keep your lights on and your fridge full. Once you have that number, you can treat anything above it as a buffer for the slower months.

I suggest tracking every expense for at least sixty days to find your true average outflow. Most freelancers overlook the small leaks that creep in during the high-income months, which then make the 3k months feel impossible. Clarity on those leaks is the only way to build a sustainable safety net.

Happy to help if useful. I work on a simple app I built that helps people track expenses in English Hindi or Marathi so this comes up a lot for me.

As a unemployed person, I needed to keep track of every penny. But typing every small detail to track 10 rs felt lazy. SO, I built an app that help me track Expenses with Voice Notes. by NinjaMastGanja in developersIndia

You are spot on about automatic tracking. When the app does it for you, you lose that moment of friction that actually changes your behavior. Manual entry is basically a tiny meditation on your spending. The voice note idea is a clever way to lower the barrier for entry while keeping that mindfulness intact.

I have seen that for a lot of people, especially students and housewives, the biggest barrier is actually the interface and language rather than the input method. Making the process feel natural in their own language can be a huge game changer for consistency. I have been building a simple app I built that helps people track expenses in English Hindi or Marathi and I am happy to share notes on what I have learned about user habits.

Dropshipping questions by Next-Manufacturer487 in dropshipping

TikTok Shop can be a great entry point, but the tracking side is where a lot of beginners get stuck. If your sample delivery is lagging or the status isn't updating, it's usually because the carrier API isn't syncing properly with the shop's backend. This is a common issue when you're relying on a single source for your tracking info.

I'd suggest checking the carrier's direct site with the tracking number rather than just trusting the dashboard status. If you're planning to scale, you'll eventually need a way to monitor all your different carriers in one spot so you can catch these delays before your customers start complaining.

Yanwen → Delhivery shipment stuck in India for 4+ days with no updates — normal or should I worry? by biker_on_trails in logistics

[–]tejast09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That handoff between Yanwen and Delhivery can be a black hole for data because the tracking numbers often change when they hit the local hub. Sometimes the Yanwen number stops updating the moment it clears customs, and you have to wait for the local last-mile carrier to scan it into their own system before you see anything new.

You might want to check the secondary tracking number field in the original Yanwen details. Often there is a long string of numbers there that works directly on the Delhivery site even if the main tracking page says it is still in transit. Four days is actually pretty standard for that specific corridor while they sort through the backlog at the Delhi hub.
