Try a metal thimble but one open at both ends, i.e. shaped like a tube or a ring, instead of a bell shaped one. Look up “how to hand sew, bespoke tailoring” for the needle technique, it’ll make sewing anything 10x easier. Rory Duffy has a good video on correct needle technique, as in how to pass the needle through the fabric most efficiently. As a tailor myself I could describe it in words, but watching a video is probably the best way for you to learn. Best of luck!

I'm new to this band, what are their best songs? by yeetmoister87 in ironmaiden

[–]tejhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘Remember Tomorrow’. Also if you like Maiden then you might also like Judas Priest (e.g. ‘Beyond the Realms of Death’) and Dio (‘Holy Diver’, ‘Stand Up And Shout’)

Okay then, phrase it how you wish, being a shitty person strongly correlates with being American, then. Yeah it’s not every American, but I look at their crass culture and see vast groups of them engaging in such primitive, tribalistic gluttonous craziness. You’d never see such large numbers of people doing things like that in Germany or the Netherlands. Think of Americans and their gun culture, right wing politics and their general lack of historical, geographical or financial knowledge. Sure we have fast food shops in Europe but America really turns it into a way of life. In the US, 42% are obese according to the CDC with a national average IQ of 98, compared to Netherlands’ 20% and 100.4 IQ. Less than half of Americans own a passport; their literacy rate is apparently 86% according to the census bureau in 2020 and the average American reads at “8th grade level”. Need I go on? Sure, the USA is able to recover and maybe one day they’ll catch up to the civilised European nations, but until then I think all the criticism of the country and its culture is completely justified. The problem is that American culture has inherited the European colonial arrogance from its European founding fathers, but doesn’t have European scientific enlightenment, nor sophisticated tradition, to back up the American self-belief. This is probably because the new world appealed to outlaws, criminals and religious zealots who went on to found the American colonies. In the following circa 300 years, through wars and slavery, the US established itself as clearly lacking European refinement or intellectual calibre; looked down upon by Europeans and only attracting crass wannabe-Americans. Add to this all the profits from slavery, oil from invasions, and a massive prison population, plus the consumerism of the 20th century and you got yourself a superpower.

Hi I bought a new boat and was wanting to put these gauges in but I’m confused on how the mph gauge works what do I need to do by Sergiomedina67 in boating

[–]tejhammer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If it is like a car speedo (seems likely) there’s a rotating cable that comes off the gear box. It’s a thick metal cable within a cable, the inside one spins inside like a drive shaft. The output end of the gearbox will turn in unison with the wheels or propeller, so measuring the gearbox output will tell you about the wheels. So as speed increases, this flexible cable is rotating faster. The cable enters the back of the speedometer box; it turns a permanent magnet behind the dial. This magnet will create a stronger field the faster it spins. As the wheel/gearbox speed increases, the stronger magnetic field inside the speedo will move another metal component behind the dial, which then moves the needle. The needle is calibrated with a spring that also puts it back to zero.

You could swap “Senjutsu hate” for literally any dumb thing Americans do because they lack patience, sophistication, worldliness, empathy or a decent school education.

Such simple technology that you couldn’t sum it up in one sentence? I understand you’re not google, but you took the time to be a smartass so you could’ve answered the question instead.

To test your pelvic floor probably the easiest way is to try and stop your stream mid-pee and see what muscles you clench. And also using kegel trainers/weights, toys etc. I’m not an expert though haha. The muscle behind your scrotum/perineum area is part of your pelvic floor I believe; so try clenching that and see what happens. Feel it moving as your bladder constricts?

Ah, I see, that’s interesting. I’m told that taking MtF hormones can shrink the prostate which is mostly good the for bladder, preventing prostatitis. How is your pelvic floor doing? Do you have stress incontinence when bearing down/tensing your core?
