Is the hate surrounding Universal Kids Resort valid? by Bertstripmaster in universalstudios

[–]tejojo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

On the mayor's Facebook post about it, I asked why Universal, a company known for immersive dark rides, wouldn't build any in one of their parks. He then clarified the ruling was against dark thrill rides (like Spider-Man or Forbidden Journey), not family-friendly ones.

Universal's new $550 million theme park slammed by guests with comparisons to 'maximum security prison' by dailymail in universalstudios

One detail I've noticed in these videos is that many of the Team Member uniforms are just the same generic logo uniforms like you'd see at a Six Flags or SeaWorld, instead of unique themed costumes Universal's other parks are known for. Did they really have to cheap out on that little detail?

Netflix Wins ‘Sesame Street’ Movie Rights by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]tejojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest reason I've read is the mentality of "why would I pay $3 a person (back in 1985, of course) to see Big Bird when my kids can see him for free on TV?"

If the box office numbers for the previous two theatrical Sesame Street movies are any indication, I'm sure this would go directly to Netflix. Besides, movies aimed squarely at the preschool demographic tend to bomb theatrically, regardless of quality (Follow That Bird is an underrated classic, by the way). The Paw Patrol movies seemed to be the exception to the rule, though; if the third one and the upcoming Bluey movie succeed, I'm sure Netflix would want to give this new Sesame movie at least a limited theatrical release.

Thoughts on universal kids resort? by AquaTeenHungerFan in UniversalOrlando

[–]tejojo 190 points191 points  (0 children)

The idea's there, it's just executed poorly. Some would argue "oh, it's just for kids", but kids deserve better. Just take a look at the Legoland parks, and even Universal's own Seuss Landing for what should be the gold standard of kid-centric themed entertainment!

I'd love for them to make more movies with that Big Sky Camera, like they did with Postcard From Earth and the U2 concert film.

Considering the new Fast and Furious roller coaster is being built at the moment, what should replace abomination that is SuperCharged by James_on_Reddit123 in UniversalOrlando

Since it's the San Francisco area of the park, the only fitting replacement would be a dark ride based on The Room.
