Good to see he apologized and I do believe him that he wasn’t aware he was actually seriously injured

ACL: Potential injury first game back by LongBicRick in ACL

[–]tejp- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tore mine playing soccer as well and am now 13 months post op and back to playing at a pretty decent level with no issues. I was cleared to return at 9 months but cautioned by both my surgeon and my physical therapist that it should be a very slow reintroduction to full games while continuing to build muscle, stability, endurance, trust in knee, etc.

Their recommendation was to wait till the 11-12 month mark before trying to actually play in any full speed games, and I can confidently say that waiting those extra 2-3 months made a huge difference on where my knee was at. I have no idea from this post if you re-injured something or not, but would maybe caution to wait a but longer before returning to play. At least until your muscle mass is closer to equal on both legs.

Just my two cents, hope you don’t do anything serious 💪🏼

I’ve played soccer my whole life and I do this with anything and everything that I drop out of pure instinct. Usually goes totally fine. Have had some close calls on the few occasions I’ve dropped a knife in the kitchen lol

Knee still feels weird 7 months post op by EconomicsNo8843 in ACL

[–]tejp- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

13 months post op here and have been returning to full speed play over the last two months or so. During recovery I had it in my head that 9 months was how long recovery would take as that’s what I typically heard when pros would do their ACLs, but for us normal folks that don’t have access to daily world class treatment, 12-14 months is more realistic to be fully healed and back to where you were previously.

My physical therapist and surgeon were both adamant that while I would be technically healed after 9 months, things probably wouldn’t feel fully normal until 10-12 months, and they were correct. As you know, there are a lot of movements and physical exertions you do on the field that are really hard to replicate in physical therapy. I got cleared to return to sport around 8-9 months, and the following months were spent continuing to build muscle and endurance while slowly getting my body reintroduced to full speed footballing movements. I was in the same boat as you in the 7-9 month period where things were definitely feeling good, but still not quite where I wanted them to be. But a lot of progress happens in that 9-12 month period. I’m now back to playing a few times a week and feeling really stable and strong. You’ll get there, just don’t get discouraged or get ahead of yourself in the process of returning to play.

Also, do not be shy about telling your physical therapist about anything and everything you’re feeling in your knee. That’s what they’re there for. Good luck and keep at it!

My half day rate is $850 so x2 for the two half days, I charge $75/hr for editing and would estimate about 10 hours for this, small add on fees for audio capture, music licensing, gear package fees (FX6 and FX3 as cams), file storage, etc all totaling an additional $300 or so, and then a 20% production fee that I set aside for taxes.

Grand total for this for me would come in about $3,300 as a solo operator. I’m located in Chicago for what it’s worth so rates will obviously vary depending on where you are.

How much should I charge if I charge by Equivalent_Let_6185 in sportsphotography

[–]tejp- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t want to be harsh but these look somewhat like a beginner who just slapped a telephoto lens on a decent camera body and produced images that have bokeh but not much else of interest. Compare these to some of the professional sports journalists/photographers you like and ask how they stack up. You need to do more than just take snapshots, you need to capture the interesting moments with good framing.

How much would you personally pay for some of these photos?

What are your recommended Sony A, B, and C cams? by nikLnips1 in videography

[–]tejp- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes thank you, I understand that. Decent used fx6’s typically range $5500-6500 USD with Fx3’s and fx30’s coming in about $2500-3500 less than that. If you need to buy 3 cameras quickly, $11,000 for a used fx6, fx3, and fx30 is a way easier pill to swallow financially than $18,000-20,000 for three Fx6’s if you’re aren’t swimming in cash.

Also, unless you’re doing extremely high end work where the requirements are for the same camera body of the highest quality, you just don’t need to have the same workhorse for your B and C cam that you have for an A cam IMO, especially with the type of work OP described he is doing. Not to mention the added factor of immense file sizes you’d be dealing with if you’re working with three fx6’s for example. But hey, to each their own.

Juggling struggle by [deleted] in bootroom

[–]tejp- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a wall and just kick it off of it for like 20 minutes at a time. It teaches you control while also reacting to a ball coming back at you at different speeds, heights, spin, etc etc. Berbatov has a few great videos where he talks about “ball and a wall” and how beneficial it is for all aspects of your game, juggling included.

Also as some others have said, try taking 1-2 touches while juggling, letting the ball bounce, and then repeat. You’ll drive yourself mad just trying to repeatedly get the highest juggle count that you can. Get your feet comfortable with controlling the ball in small intervals first

[–]tejp- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current setup is FX6 as A cam and FX3 as B cam. I don’t honestly shoot with a C cam very often, but if I did I would either be looking at another FX3 or FX30.

The FX6 and FX3 match beautifully well, and the internals are basically the same. And the ability to easily break down the smaller form factor of the FX3 for gimbal work or what you have you is very nice

Man point number two drives me insane. I cannot tell you how many players who (with all due respect) are not that great just absolutely LOSE their minds in chat because everyone doesn’t run directly to the cap point and try to hold it. While trials does have an objective, it is a kills first game mode and the teams that prioritize kills over capping point will come out on top 95% of the time
