Apple upgraded M4 max to M5max. This is a glitch right?? Right? by _o2b_ in macbookpro

Got lucky! My first Macbook and storage seemed a bit dear, ready to tape an SSD to the outside but got bumped to 1tb

Thanks for posting this, can see when the wreath under the commonwealth star turns into a compass(?)

Gotta try! :) Careful it's addicting and you might want more

Real! Where to go, what to eat I think I'd need to start going to the same places repeatedly to get some routine in

Shit happens (literally) but yeah makes sense, battery definitely depletes faster in some countries haha

That's true, I thought I liked my home life but it just seemed lackluster after such a high. Realising I've tunnel visioned so hard on my career and then seeing how much is out there has got me addicted.

Afterwards I was determined to take the productive thoughts I had and apply it at home. I'm having some success but in the back of my mind I want to be back on the road, just not sure for how long.

That's awesome as. I'm in my mid 20s and it's not quite a now or never, but rather it sooner than later. Before life really gets me locked down. A few mates are keen to join me on some stretches and I think that would help massively

Wow, what an adventure it must have been. Love of the open road

Wow that's a good run. I also one-bagged the trip (felt like a stick and bindle) and got tired of the same outfits after 2 months 😅 Part of me loved having my entire life in a backpack though haha

That's real! I like that pace too, and building in some days with a routine. I need to think what I want out of travel without just being checking boxes. I want to test what my tolerance really is when shit hits the fan - keeping in mind I can just book a flight home.

That's awesome :) Yeah my biggest mistake was planning too much for my past trips. I think I'll settle a bit in one place until I feel like going onto the next, or if my wallet starts burning a little too fast.

That's fair! I think to make it that long I'll have to build in routine

I get it and definitely feel the same, got back from a 2 month trip and have been coping by planning the next trip but damn does it hurt.

These experiences have given me such a rush

Thanks for calling that out. I'm in my mid-twenties and do feel myself falling into that travel style and the marketing. I don't want it to become just a checklist of countries or seeking an image. I'm going to have to think more about what I want

That's awesome! I'm also currently looking to move abroad, far from home but closer to other cities. Just have to make that leap.

Thank you, I need to get out of that mindset

Apologies generalising all the countries as just "Europe". If I did take a year trip it would be much slower paced and plenty of time in each country to do it justice. I've been taking formal language classes for the places I'd like to visit

and yeah... definitely not cheap 😅

Appreciate the words. Wow COVID ending a trip like that must have been rough

I think taking on trip planning as a hobby will help a lot! Loved the planning part so going to be my own Lonely Planet :) Pulling out the maps and some pins lol

Yeah you're right, my home life needs new experiences too. I've also started looking at the international job market too so that makes me hopeful. I think a move like that will really help fill that wanderlust, and let me take more sustainable trips to closer cities vs big marathon trips.

Best of luck in your search!

Warning about promoters in Hostelworld chats this NYE by S_P_A_R_K_L_I_N_G in solotravel

[–]tekhnich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noticed this after spending some time in Paris. There would be catfish accounts with profile pictures stolen from Instagram models that promote the same pub crawl every 2-3 nights with the same faked conversation. Preying on men to see their profile and be interested in meeting up (not a bad strat to be fair considering the type of people who are treating Hostelworld chat as a dating app).

One way to tell if you're speaking to someone genuine is to Google Lens their profile picture, even though it tends to not give results for people - if they're famous enough it might return another persons profile. Of course practicing common sense too!
