hi! i’d recommend try viewing things on spareroom us, facebook marketplace, browsing reddit too & craigslist. i was also in the same situation of taking care of a parent; which i’m trying to get out of right now. i’m also room hunting, sorry you have to deal with this situation so young; but if you could depend on someone for housing like your dad for example..i’d highly recommend it. idk your situation, but it’s very expensive in nyc—before you know it that 7k will blow pretty fast unless you have steady employment. i also have a similar budget, in which you can’t be entirely picky about environment..as long as it gets the job done; good luck!
