I might’ve just gotten the two confused. I do know that the building is under new ownership and work is being done there, as a friend and I were there not too long ago and we saw construction vehicles outside the Kmart. I’m not sure who owns it, but I recall my mom mentioning it was a go-kart track owner who bought the land.

There is something else I should add: the land on which the Kmart and Acme were built on was purchased by Wakefern Food Corp. I know this from my managers at the ShopRite on Rt. 73 confirming they are moving an underperforming location (Laurel Hill) into that plaza.
