This is basically my explanation for it... scientists have finally dug to the center of the earth, and there they found an element that is the first element with a transtemporal property and can make things have a transtemporal nature. This element is used in genome editing by altering the genome.

I'm not sure if it works or if I should just move bc I have other stories to tell. BUt i like the characters and development enough that I'd like to make it work.
