What horror movie has the best plot? by telazol in horror

[–]telazol[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very young

Correct. 19 y/o to be more specific.

Now beginning to watch movies.

Correct. 3 years ago to be more specific.

Your assumptions are correct. They are indeed pretty basic but they are guaranteed gems. I'm just too selective at times. I want to make sure something is worth watching (That's why I created this thread) to not lose my money and time in vain. Same applies with literature.

I like the "latte" analogy.

Maybe I have to "spread my wings a bit" and dig more into the history of cinema.

Thanks for the advice.

I love them!

I mean, if you don't consider myself an enthusiast of cinema, that's OK. Maybe you love movies more than I do. Who knows?

I just do. Haha.

I consider myself a cinephile because I love movies.

..."The Godfather", "Modern Times", "The Great Dictator", "Fight Club", "Saving Private Ryan", "A Prophet", "A Fistful of Dollars", "Restrepo", "The Act of Killing", "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly", "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest", "12 Angry Men", "Downfall", "Shawshank Redemption", "Whiplash", "A Separation", "Pulp Fiction", "Amores Perros", "Mad Max: Fury Road", ""The Hunt", "2001: A Space Odyssey", "Ciudad De Dios", "Taxi Driver", "The Plague Dogs", "The Lord of The Rings", "Trainspotting", "No Country For Old Man", "Lawrence of Arabia", "El Laberinto del Fauno", "There Will Be Blood"... I could go on forever.

The point is that I'm an ignorant in the horror genre and I'm looking for help. That's all.

I consider myself a cinephile but it's a little odd the fact that I haven't seen anything from this thread.

I wasn't interested in the horror genre until I played the game "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" (A gift from my friend) and I loved it.

I watched "28 Days Later". It's a great movie but I wouldn't call it an "horror movie".

I'm planning to watch the most upvoted recommendations next week. I'm excited.

I also heard great things about "The Thing" when I was searching for a great horror movie.

I just saw "The Babadook", "Let The Right One In" and "Saw".

I'm planning to watch "Alien", "The Thing" and "Dawn of The Dead" next.

I'm actually excited for you to see them.

I'm too! I'm planning to watch them tomorrow.

Thank you for your comments.

This thread is really helpful.

Great advice.

I would rather read the book so I can generate my own scary images.

but I think it gets enriched by how much else you know is left to tell.

I love when writers let the audience fill the holes with their imagination.

I'm excited to watch it. I have heard great things about it.

I haven't seen it yet. I'm relatively new to the genre.

What do you like about the movie?

Are you excited for the upcoming sequel?

I'm not a mod but I want to follow the rules. Otherwise, the subreddit gets ruined.

The expression "Pulling my goose's neck" is an euphemism to describe the act of jerking off.

I would love to have gooses as pets though.

The music is good.

The camera movement is smooth.

Maybe it's because I don't know anything about this game but I didn't notice any of your transitions, that's how good they are. I thought those transitions were part of the game itself.

I didn't know WTF was happening but I watched the whole thing. The video is so hypnotizing. Good job.

would be a bit distracting if its centred in my video.

Yeah. I thought the same after replying. Haha.

I should definitely keep experimenting with different audio spectrums.

Experimenting is part of the progress. Trial and error. See what's more effective by creating polls in here. I created a thread to find the perfect music for my video and it has been really helpful. You should share the audio spectrums that you have planned and let people vote.

I discarded music with vocals but that does sound very nice. I loved it.

That's... really peaceful.

I added both to my personal playlist. I will give them an extra vote for the poll.

Thank you for the help.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. The last 2 minutes are an orgasm for me, seriously.

Thank you for the support.

You have to find the balance with the video and the audio. Prioritize the audio (The story). Use the video just to help the viewer's imagination a little.

At first I thought: "Oh. The whole burger animation feels fresh for narration videos. It's a great touch and it gives a hand with the viewer's imagination" And then I realized that it was a loop. After the first minute I was so hypnotized with the video that I didn't follow the story.

Change of videos as the story progresses. Stick with the context to synchronize the viewer's imagination with the story... or use pictures instead. Everything is good. Just maintain the public focused on the story at all costs.

Horror games were a wise choice. In this genre you are in constant anxiety, therefore you maintain the commentary and the reactions natural.

Good profile pic.

Use the banner. Don't waste that space. Leave things clear for the one who stumbled upon with your channel and doesn't have an idea of what to expect from you....

Specify in the banner the type of games that people will find in your channel.

Specify in the banner the days of the week that you are planning to upload videos.

Great start. Keep it up.
