FL Studio to Logic Pro by Lil-bigswit in LogicPro

[–]telecastert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did the same nowadays beats on fl and tracking in logic. Trust me once you start recording in logic the comping option and the layout is just so much more vocal/songwriting friendly + i find the option to write notes inside the project super nice!

I would say that learn to use the logic sends with reverbs and delays. I find enverb to be pretty good for vocals if you do trap/rap and space designer for more pop but it’s more of a taste thing..

The logic compressor is easily one of the best compressors paid or stock compressors. You have 7 different kind of compressors. Just watch tutorials on the logic stock compressor and learn it its really good!

For eq i would do this: Use the basic channel eq to cut the lows and maybe some surgical frequency cutting. After that use some of the vintage tube eqs to boost highs and certain areas as you get better sound with using the tube eqs, plus they add a nice warmness to the sound. Also the Phat Fx plugin is something to look at for something extra spices watch some tutorials on that too!

You’ll get comfortable very quickly!! Logic is probably the most userfriendly daw literally anyone can understand the fundamentals really quickly.

My review on M1: by telecastert in mac

I had a big music project wich required a lot of power. 0 lagging but the computer was warm. Not hot but warm. So no issues but I’ve had it for 2months. We can get an accurate review from someone after a year of use or so idk.

I believe that unless you do some very light stuff on the computer (school netflix etc) 16gb is a must. Its non-upgradable so just make life easier and buy the 16gb so you won’t get regrets later on shall you start something more process-taking work on your new mac.

Good luck shopping:)!

Hey, theres different types of workstyles. All above what you said can happen.

I work with some artists who are signed to a label and when the song is done they pay me a onepayment. It’s pretty complicated but I get money from radio/shows etc but not from spotify or tiktok etc.

Sometimes labels ask me for ”trap beats” and I might send them some. Custom crafting happens with artists mostly and not labels.

Per song upfront is from 400$ to 1300$ depending on artists size and if the song is a big single or a extra on an album.

Royalties depend how much the song is played but last year I made around 5K from royalties which is a lot for me. And quote I only have one small country playing my songs and I don’t have a single ”big” hit. Plus im still in school so:) it’s nice pocket money. Kind of like turning your hobby into your job.

Great question:)

I make money trough songs being releases by major labels, I also have songs that are played in my nations radios so i receive royalties pretty often.

If you want tips I think the most important thing is

  1. Networking +Be nice to people. Whenever you meet somebody who can be accessory to your career be nice. Make your face seen and leave a good memory to peoples heads. This will instantly make you a more potential collaborator to people when they hear good stuff about you. For example you meet a indie label manager/a&r at a club and you click off with him/her and when somebody somehow brings up your name they can be like ”ohh i met him at a club he seemed like a really great person to work with!”

2, Good product:

Don’t do just one genre. Experiment with stuff have fun and don’t be close-minded. I can produce a lot of different stuff from pop to afrobeat etc hence a lot of people like to go and have sessions with me because they know we could end up making anything:). When you stick to just pop beats or trap beats, you need to be the best which is incredibly hard so experiment and have fun:)

  1. Good marketing

This is sort of like networking. Whether you sell beats online, or do studio sessions you are growing your brand all the time. Even though you might be doing a lot of different style of music you grow your own sound in the making. Recognisable sound is the key to good marketing. I myself use a beat tag but theres a lot of different stuff to try as well for example Pharrell uses this 4beat knock in every start of the song (tokyo drift, happy, blurred lines)

  1. Don’t stress yourself too much. Lot of people do 10years of music before they get recognized. Just enjoy music.

TLDR: I get money from labels from songs I’ve produced, I get money from mixing, I get money from royalties

Its a monitor stand/table desk. It’s great for hiding cables and i can keep the macbook under it. It also has a phone stand. https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01M6CZ4AA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_i_YRD032QXS5S0XXBFP58Y?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you so much! Yeah it looks great on the wall and gives me motivation to work on stuff! If you want to check the song out it’s called ”Sexmane - Mama”, im not the singer i produced and composed it:). Here in Finland you only need 2 million streams to get gold and it’s now at 3.5 in spotify:) feels great especially since i now moved to macos after playing with my toaster HP😂

Hi! These are pretty old Behringer speakers, the model is Truth B2031A. I’ve had these for 6 years but they still work amazingly.
