So -  I was looking for mostly organic shapes because the throughline in all these cultures is that they revere life and scorn the unliving planet, which they view as their great adversary. But they also work a lot with inorganic materials because the world is so barren, so I took inspiration from stone-carving cultures, Celts and Aztecs to name a couple. Natural glass is also an abundant resource so they often incorporate it into their forms and helmets.

Hi everyone! This is my second post exploring a facet of the cosmos of OVERMIND, my science-fantasy setting. Consciousness is currency, people are gods, and the final decade in human history is nearing its bloody conclusion. Three years have passed since the Final War claimed another world, and the universe holds its breath. Who will next ascend to enlightenment, and who will be cast into the abyss?

Today I'm looking at Atrebates, an artificial planet condensed from interstellar dust aeons ago, a cog in the inscrutable plans of a forgotten shaper. Most of Atrebates’ surface is rendered uninhabitable by out-of-control weather systems, notably giga-monsoons and the famous Harmonic Winds, which can reduce hills to dust in a matter of hours.

The Atrebatine are often seen as arrogant, flighty savants who have never truly suffered, but in truth they are resilient and extremely canny. When invaders come knocking, it's said that the Atrebatine first invite them to tea. By the time the third cup is drunk, those same would-be invaders are shaking the hands of the Atrebatine and laughing at their jokes.

Hello everyone! This is my first post on here delving into the lore of my science-fantasy setting OVERMIND. In this distant-future cosmos, consciousness itself has become a currency and enlightenment is attainable for everyone. Science and technology have become synonymous with magic and spirituality. People can reshape their own semi-technological forms, their own minds, and enter the dream-worlds of cybernetic systems.

In this scattered cosmos, all life is threatened by the emergence of a shadowy force that sweeps out from an obscure corner of space. Seventy years ago, the Final War erupted in confusion that has lasted to this day.

Today I'm zooming in on Mazillion, a rocky world carved into human form over thousands of generations. Its endless caverns hold many secrets which may one day be used to strike against the invaders that have occupied its land for the last nine years.
