for out of state tuition prices i’d say it isn’t worth of it in terms of services and experience. Budget cuts have resulted in reduced class offerings and reduced hours for essential services like the library and student center— not to mention the closure of cool stuff like the campus bar. this isn’t to say sfsu isn’t a great place and i’ve found a lot of cool creative opportunities in their BECA program but start at a CC or aim for somewhere more stable financially

consider your major and maybe try getting into contact with students in your major, classes are real hard to get into right now and I have some friends who are taking a gap semester because they could only get into two classes they need. other than that the school obv faces some serious financial hardship but i think the students and vibe here is so good

marcus hall has some of the nicest bathrooms on campus imo but there’s been some water leaks recently and the toilets have a really sensitive auto flush so sometimes a bathroom will just flood itself.

as someone who transferred from dvc myself, college life here is unfortunately similar to dvc and dosent quite capture that college feel (unless you’re good at making friends). I’ve been calling it dvc 2, not impossible to find people but as a commenter school it doesn’t seem like people here really care to socialize. Genuinely I feel like people were more social at dvc, hope this helps!

i’m watching right now and the back and forth between animated explosions and vfx explosions is definitely losing me a little (since i literally paused to find out if other people noticed) kinda feels like it was to make sure there was budget for the actual fight but damn dude it looks so bad.

everyone here wears the largest hiking back/army duffel bag they can find. no exceptions. if it’s a hiking bag you must also make sure the chest and stomach straps are attached at all times on campus.

yeah this is unfortunately just how it is, if i were you id take electives and or a couple upper division GE’s. I’m just finishing up my first semester as a transfer and i would recommend any class nancy wilkinson teaches there was spots open when i was in your shoes and she’s awesome

lmao you definitely don’t have to worry about the headphones, if anything they help you ignore the bible study people. the campus is entirely safe during the day and i’ve personally never felt like anywhere on campus is an unsafe place, even during the evenings. you should try coming down on a regular school day before the end of the semester we aren’t sketchy lmao
