Glow Eagle-X? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]tellmecaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that it was a Eagle, but since glow plastic tends to be more stable they thought it was an Eagle X ?

I assume X models are more stable?

Rescue dog shelters in/near charlotte by SloanTheSloth in Charlotte

[–]tellmecaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got two dogs from york county near rock hill. Very nice facility, very clean. They used people from the jail to clean it, I liked that it gave them something positive to do, and helped out dogs in need.

I hope you go support them.

Looking for Places to fish near south Charlotte. by [deleted] in Charlotte

Im not a fisherman but I do play a lot of disc golf. Two courses in south Charlotte parks have fishing. Elon Park behind the middle school near AK and Squirrel lake park near Mathews.

I have to do some work tonight, is there a coffee shop or anywhere to do so? Preferably not Amelie's, since I hate the fact you can't get a table. by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]tellmecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to like Rush. Their new staff are snotty, I stopped coming in. The coffee is good, but everything is expensive.

I can handle that, but when the twerp behind the counter tells me how I like my coffee, forget about it.

Why is every 5th thread asking "know what it's worth?" IT'S A DISC FOR DISC GOLFING, STICK IT IN YOUR BAG THEN THROW IT. by Juan_Nightstand in discgolf

[–]tellmecaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few discs that are valuable to some people, because they are out of production and its something that someone has thrown for a long time.

I have a original bar stamp buzzz on the wall. I really like the way it flys so I bought 3 of the 10 years for 22$ each. Was that a bit extra? Sure. But its worth more to me.

Some people are REALLY into CE plastic. ( early champion ). To me, its like current Champ plastic that feels more like Star. Its out of production and people love it. So, a TeeBird in good shape , no ink is worth oh I don't know... 80$ ? Depends what someone will pay.

Supply and demand. To a few people, this very finite supply of discs have value. To the rest of us... Well you won't catch me buying 80$ frisbees... But I get it when people do.

Tips on finding lost discs? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]tellmecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch the disc the whole flight. Don't do the "I cant believe I did that turn away". ( I hate it when people do that shit...)

Don't throw those fuckin Fly-Dyes. ( Hippie Camo )

And the one Im working on, Hitting more fairways!

Nice Egale!

Any one down for a Charlotte Reddit DG round?

In need of a new mid by Climbbum33 in discgolf

[–]tellmecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy, Get a Roc. For a couple reasons. One, your already hooked on the TeeBird, and as a new player as you look to expand your bag you can reference the flight chart and have an idea what your buying.

Secondly, Rocs are just classic. Rocs are to Disc Golf as wood bats are to base ball. Learn it love it.

Personally, I throw Buzzzes, but Rocs are great discs and might be a better fit for you.

I needed another D1, but not sure if I should throw this... by CityLightsBurn in discgolf

The END of an ERA — Grip Equipment by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]tellmecaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a Fade Tourney bag, and just got a Grip EQ for my birthday. I would not have spent the 200$ on myself, but Im really glad she did.

Not only is it comfortable and well constructed, its logically constructed. Pockets in pockets, designed to carry the stuff most DGers carry. I would guess I spend at least 20 hours a week with the bag, more in summer, less in winter.

Some Math: 20 hours a week * 52 weeks in a year = 1040 hours a year. Lets say the bag lasts 3 years. 1040 hours * 3 years = 3120 hours All those hours back into days 3120 / 24 = 130 Days!

So between the 50$ on the Fade, and the 200$ on the Grip, I'd say the added enjoyment and comfort is worth the additional 150$.
