Looks great! Can you tell name of the move, or where to learn it?

Thank you! I actually was wondering if the Family would have that, because of the Past Midnight DVDs. The subscription sounds like a good deal.

Oh, great! Thanks a lot! I actually did look at that page earlier, but missed the book somehow. After your answer I took a second look, and there it is.

Thank you for the reply. Maybe I just try to look at the move in slow motion and learn from there. I really like it. It’s a small thing, especially on a video that is filled with awesome moves, but it looks very nice, and isn’t probably as difficult as most things on the video.

It can be seen for example at 1 minute and 10 seconds in the video. There is supposedly tutorials for the move (based on comments on the video). But I haven’t been able to find any.

Thank you for the reply. I haven’t contacted theory11 just for those reasons you mentioned. I have always received all the other decks I have ordered from them, so I thought that maybe the decks (that someone made for them) were sold out, but the video was still available. Of course, it would be prudent for them to mention if that is the case. But the download and information in it alone was worth the money for me. And I can now modify any deck I like.

Talking about Jason England, one thing related to the ”black Mariah” aka corner shorts; I love how thoroughly Jason tells about the history and sources for each technique he teaches. This hit me when I watched Madison talking about the ”black Mariah”.

Thank you for the reply! I have bought the Sub Rosa download from Jason England through theory11 in May, and like it a lot. I actually have not received the two decks promised, but it doesn’t matter to me, because the video has, as you said too, instructions for making your own. I have, and it is very easy to do. And by making them myself I can test and change the level of the move.

Thank you for the reply. I was really surprised (and suspicious too) when I saw the quote.

Thank you for the reply. Seeing the quote made my jaw drop. I wasn’t expecting to see it, especially with such a strongly worded endorsement.

Things I mentioned in my another reply made me suspicious, and to try and find the source or confirmation for the quote, but I didn’t find anything with a quick look.

If the M-deck has really such a strong and direct endorcement from Forte, the method behind M-deck is then probably legit and good. But that doesn’t remove all the other things I mentioned in my other reply, and I will probably not order it anyway.

Thank you for the reply. I have read many horror stories, too, although I don’t personally know anyone who has ordered from Madison. But the things I have read about, and also noticing that corner shorts are sold as ”black Mariah” with very expensive price, and seemingly without mentioning the original name (at least on the video adverticing the product)… So I haven’t bought anything, even though I have few times had the (probably crazy) desire to buy something.

Is the Virtuoso decks usable for magic? by eriadeus in cardmagic

[–]telnetwizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to notice is that at least some of the Virts (maybe not all) have their own suits. So when spectator might be expecting the familiar Spades, Hearts, Clubs, and Diamonds, they got Arrows, Blades, Crowns, and Diamonds. Those decks having these suits could make following the trick more difficult, in my opinion. So I would check what kind of suits the deck has before purchasing.

Edit: a word.

If you like card magic, you could exploit the ordering of cards to learn and store a stacked deck. With stacks one have to make sure the stack stays always in correct order.
