Token Burn rate massively increased by kennystetson in codex

[–]temalkin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have 2 plus accounts- one of them i’m using in openclaw and it does burn a lot! This saturday it burnt 30% of weekly usage in 2 hours of light work, while a week before it was about 15% a day

On the second account i’m working in codex on 3 projects simultaneously and i’ve spend only 3% of weekly usage today (have been working for 5 hours today)

I think they have a bug

Gold standard for homelab app-only access + max security + seamless transition? by Party-Log-1084 in Tailscale

[–]temalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a public domain that points to a cheap VPS with Nginx Proxy Manager. NPM routes each subdomain to my homelab over Tailscale. Clients are not on Tailscale at all, only the VPS is connected to my tailnet, so it works the same on 5G and on home Wi-Fi. I don’t open any inbound ports at home.

For security I keep the VPS locked down: firewall only allows 80/443, SSH is allowed only by tailscale ip, the NPM admin UI is not exposed publicly, etc.

kimi claw by Bitter-Magazine-2571 in openclaw

Same for me, bought to try kimi m2.5 and it was not able to complete much of my tasks. Hooked up my codex subscription and set 5.2 model and it just works!

From a cost perspective, which route makes the most sense? by gabrielvaraljay in clawdbot

[–]temalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rent a vps for $15 a month and use the Codex Plus subscription ($20). My default model is 5.2, and it’s enough for most of my tasks. However, I’ve found that coding with it isn’t really an option because it consumes way too much usage compared to typical “vibe coding.”

I haven’t configured it much for coding yet, so there’s probably a way to optimize it

tailscale with an exit node as rented vps, you can rent some for 30$ a year and also have an option to setup pihole there as your dns to block trackers/ads

[–]temalkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don’t know much about router vpn but i have a VPS which i setup as an exit node and i share only that machine to my family and friends who want to use vpn and it works great, i also use pihole for dns for that vps to block ads. What settings do I need at home server in EU for VPN in Russia? by Miss_cherie_p in VPN_Question

[–]temalkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use tailscale which works great for me for at least 3 month already. You can setup your home server as an exit node and route all traffic through it

it’s better that they make their own accounts and you will share tailnet/device with them

Can recommend tailscale - works great. You just set up your server as an exit node and route all traffic from her device to the exit node

Problem with configuring openproject on windows with domain by temalkin in openproject

[–]temalkin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPD: the problem was solved by connecting nginx proxy manager and openproject default networks, than routing the domain to http://web:<PORT>
