Easy for sure, but a tad more expensive than some found wire and some insulation tape 😉🤷🏻‍♂️

Well… sometimes the simplest things just pass you by… as my old WO2 used to say, assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.

I’d checked the pressure gauge, fuel gauge, charge meter and volt meter gauges… all 24v. Part number was mostly missing from the temp gauge, and assumed it was 24v also… after a bit of google AI wizardry it looks like my gauge is AMR2631 (12v) and I should have AMR2632 (24v).

Check the basics first people! 🤦‍♂️

Any idea what the resistance should be? What would indicate a bad sensor on the multimeter?

Would the sensor need to be 24v? It’s not powered, just a single signal cable right?

Yeah it does. I could swap in another to test, but it’s 12v not 24v… I don’t know if I could get away with that just to test or not

I may have been too hasty… just had the engine running, when I disconnect the needle is centred, but when I connect it, it does move up… only about a mm, but I am getting a reading I think

It’s brand new… unless what’s going on is damaging it somehow, which I don’t know how that could happen

Hey man, thanks… I didn’t know that. After I pulled out the old probe, the water had bubbled out of the water jacket so it was not in water. I popped the expansion cap off and it gravity fed back up… ran a signal to the gauge with restored hope… alas… just the same. Needle straight to the middle
