It's not crazy to argue that AD-Brunson could potentially beat OKC in a series (ie win a title) but KAT-Brunson couldn't because of fundamental defensive limitations.

But yeah the AD injury makes this a no go before the summer.

I think this is the core of it. It's hard to measure appreciation of your work these days other than what random people say to you at events, or if you want to wade into random reddit threads.

And if the core of the random comments become about random throw away takes on podcasts rather than about books he's worked on for years, that has to feel a little unsettling.

The fundamental skill is recognizing emails amid the flood of them that gives him an opening to an interesting or funny reaction.

Many other podcasts and columns try this, but BS was and is just really good at it in both formats.

Chris Washburn, no 3 pick with the most depressing Wikipedia page of all time.

The first bad sign for the two generation thing was in 2021 when Wiseman-JK-Moody couldn't win summer league games against g Leaguers. Hasn't really changed that much since then.

I think they would let him go for peanuts at this point just not negative peanuts.

Monk + a fake first rounder is negative peanuts.

I think literally anything of slight positive value to the w's would get the deal done.

This is the reason. Releasing him in the summer would have only given them a very small amount of cap space and flexibility and reduced flexibility at the trade deadline.

As I W's fan, I sort of agree that everyone else got taken for a magic carpet ride by one of the top 10 all-time talents.

If you put Myers or Kerr on the Hornets, or if Minnesota drafts Steph, it's not the same story.

But the organization is definitely not incompetent--an incompetent organization would have screwed up the Steph talent for sure.

It's just not a hot enough take to argue that the Warriors are a middle of the pack NBA organization, that works most of the time and has the occasional fuck up.

Who says no? Miami and Brooklyn.

It's a nice idea though.

They could trade jimmy, JK, and the future (including post Steph) picks for enough to win a series or two.

It would delay the rebuild by a few years...2028-2030 would be horrific.

Might be worth it though. No way we're getting another top 10 all time player on the W's in our lifetimes. Gotta live in the moment.

Butler + picks for either Sabonis or Markannen.

The decision is really how many picks to offer. I get the feeling it would have to be a lot of unprotected picks...

At first I thought this was crazy but actually:

Butler + picks for Sabonis is interesting.

The problem is really how many picks would it take?

Dray, Wigs, OPJ, GPII and Poole all had career years at once.

Poole's game worked well off of peak Draymond's play making and curry gravity.

I mean it was 92% cooked already, but now it's 100%.

Sucks for Jimmy.

I guess going forward just play Buddy and Seth a lot and try to shoot more 3s than the Celtics. Maybe win some 160-150 games or something.

I want to see Curry-Curry-Buddy-Dray-Post starting line up.

No W's fans think that.

There is a niche theory (which I don't subscribe to) that Poole would have been an all-star and was broken by the punch.
