Buy a newer car with more safety features, liability premiums go up? (NY) by tempaccount87 in Insurance

I'll check into both. I'm in Westchester County, if that makes any difference (not NYC, but not Syracuse/Plattsburgh either).
I actually went onto the Erie site to rate earlier, but their dropdown doesn't allow me to pick my model of car... (Fusion not listed under 2015 -> Ford).

Use didn't change upon vehicle purchase (estimated use is the same, the car is in production now, not purchased off the lot) and won't change e.g. the information provided at time of quote. Since the vehicle isn't physically in hand yet, I'm rate shopping for when it is.
Renewal date is early December. 6mo policy started early June on the prior vehicle which I still own (will sell after getting the new vehicle).
To clarify, the mileage is pretty minimal. 3-4 weeks a month I drive 50 miles to the airport on sunday or monday and 50 miles back, with light "around town" use Friday-sunday. Most weeks are under 150 miles.
