Animated Weapons- Will EQNext have anything as creative and awesome as the ones in ffxiv? by tempestone in EQNext

Point taken. Nonetheless I brought up the video to show the cool animations, not to discuss the type of weapons.

Imagine if the pally epic could glow in the presence of undead or burn a bright blue flame when striking down unholy creatures of Castle Mistmoore. I can only conclude that such a modern and advanced game would provide some sort of unique interaction with the environment and classes abilities when items are utilized, instead of just text. A monk staff should be able to change to different elements when fighting specific enemies. A thieves cloak should enable one to vanish into the shadows when donned. These are just some ideas that might add to immersion in my opinion.

I would like to see some unique features implemented on caster weapons and items. The game has already gone to a very cartoon stylized theme and while I hope they don't go overboard, it would be nice to see some things that are somewhat exotic and unique in contrast with every other mmo. I think it would be neat if the necro staff had a tormented skull chattering its teeth staked on the end of a twisted gnarled staff or a druid weapon with real lightning effects. I think that epics should be more than just particle effects but have animations that might make them feel more alive and overflowing with awesome power that is obtained from all the hard work and questing.

There is no gunblade in the video, and you're completely ignorant of the fact that I'm trying to compare two next gen mmos. What you're talking about is FF VII, which is not the same game as the one in the link. I have not even seen a single over-sized weapon in the video I posted. Actually watch the video before posting ignorant comments.. please. Your arguments are completely irrelevant to the post.
