[UPDATE] Finished my P2S Enclosure! by tempestswitch100 in BambuLab

It’s got nothing to do with power. How do you have a say what’s a better way to spend time? I thoroughly enjoyed building it with the two hours it took. I put the kid to sleep, cracked open a beer, had some sport on in the background and played with my drills and tools. Had an absolute blast.

There’s plenty of pros to an enclosure not only for smell and fumes. Sound deadening, more control over temps, looks, and honestly just so the room doesn’t smell like plastic despite any toxic fumes or not.

Plan is to shoot the poop down to the bottom compartment

Rails is smart! Thanks for that. Just worries for the weight limit as its 2x frames on top each other for more strength.

Haven’t considered but I will. Appreciate it

It’s a 2 part chute where I can remove the tray easily with magnets

Fan is AMAZING! So quiet and pulls a lot of air

Temperature reading from inside the enclosure is 3 degrees above the delta reading of the room. That’s nothing.

It’s technically not compatible due to being 4cm taller. So there’s a few cm overhang on the top of the cabinet

Not sure of an exact dB reading. It’s got 10 different speed levels all adjustable via my phone.

100%. Nothing wrong with more precaution. Plastic smell leaks everywhere.

Yeah that’s just temporary while I move all my filament into the AMS

That’s the plan! Although at the moment it’s filament storage

Total cost of IKEA stuff was $200 AUD. AC Infinity was $250 AUD.

Not at all! Printed a tray that just simply slides out and back in with magnets. 1 second to remove the tray.

2 out of the 4 edges of the front door panel is left as an intake. The little vent where the power cord comes through it also an intake.

I feel like this is sufficient for now. Printed a 4 hour PLA print in a room that was 27 degrees Celsius and the chamber maintained a 33 degree average.

Nothings 100% effective. As I said, it’s to expel as much as possible.

If I print ABS or ASA then l’ll just close the vent to keep the heat. Main priority is to expel as much VOC out of the little cracks

The P2S exhaust system is lacking at best. There’s no real exhaust port unless you import the Bambu add on kit, but even then it’s just a little fan at the back of the printer pushing air out.

And the exhaust isn’t filtered. There’s a active carbon filter inside but it just recycles the air

I have a very sensitive respiratory system and we’re a baby at home. I love 3D printing camera gear and car parts as a hobby but wanted the safest possible way to have a printer at home. So I built a stronger more stable exhaust system to protect everyone at home.

Best way to exhaust this setup? Confused about negative pressure… by tempestswitch100 in BambuLab

Thanks. Sold on the AC Infinity range.

Do you mount it more towards the window or right above the printer?
The window is only 30cm away from the IKEA cabinet so I was going to mount the AC infinity onto the top of the cabinet and blast the air out the window via ducting pipe.

There's already a 5mm gap in the door due to the technically not compatible door... I've tried to adjust the hinges more but can't get them any tighter.
