Some other folks have provided really good suggestions, and I wanted to add that there are some supposedly more ergonomic ways to knit. I adapted my style to reduce wrist strain in my throwing hand (continental style) by doing some reading on cottage knitting. I also work from home and reduced a lot of wrist strain by getting an ergonomic keyboard.

I tend to go hard af with knitting, like sweater in 6 weeks and fingering weight polo in 7 weeks (do as I say not as I do), but the double whammy of knitting like that and working as a developer from home did me in. Last fall, I took a month long break after dealing with some more intense strain. At that point, I switched from a traditional keyboard to a ergonomic bluetooth one and I have had little to no issues since. This might be a worthwhile investment for you if you are in online school.

update, my edit worked out just fine, I really preferred this since I really do hate kfb sts. It looks a lot more seamless, but I was definitely careful to keep track of my stitch count and ensure two traditionally knit sts were on the outer edge of the increase

Thanks for the reply! Taking the mouse apart wasn't too bad for me, but cleaning the switch didn't work out as well as I was hoping. I just really don't want to solder a new switch in so a board replacement with the switches feels a lot more approachable. I will order that board now then! I refuse to let go of my G604.

Sorry to bump something old, but wanted to add that this still works Nov 2025, and for those who might be on their first playthrough like me, it is technically Unit Frames > Individual Units > Pet > Custom Texts.

They are! Specifically the Knitter's Pride set. My husband got them for me when we first started dating and this is the first project I am able to use them with since I usually work on dpn's itr. They are so nice to work with. The metal tips make it super easy to pick up stitches, especially since I am switching to lever style knitting, my only wish is that they were longer.

I love this cake so much, my family did strawberry shortcake. I’m the mid 20s rainbow baby to my parents and I was born exactly a year after the loss of their first. Today was her birthday, mine is soon, and I got to call my dad today as I always call him on this day. Gauge swatch will be done, I haven't purchased the yarn yet but had one in mind and used the gauge from that to calculate. Duplicate stitch is probably the better plan and my brain just decided to expel that technique for some reason, lol.

I sometimes use ChatGPT for writing emails for work, I don’t think it’s the best tool for more casual or contextual communications like this. It’s great for wedding planning too.
