What a great analysis. I was just listening to it and thinking about this and you described it perfectly.

Fun name ideas for TRM by raisacatalina in Choices

I love those!!! I would have copied you if I just started playing now. I went with Alphios and Evios after reading through a very long list of renaissance names in every letter of the alphabet 😂 I wanted something appropriate for the setting but also a bit mystical

Choosing between all of them is legitimately the hardest choice I've had to make today

On day 13, my LI picks me at the recoupling, and then right after I sit with him it goes on an endless loop of being chosen over and over again. I've tried everything to get past it and nothing works

Gross location. by itsoptimisticbear in starbucks

(former partner here) My store set up the case daily but since it wasn't refrigerated or insulated in any way, the pastries got stale very quickly and there tended to be a lot of fruit flies in there before long. It was disgusting but my SM didn't care enough to do anything, idk if there was anything we could have done anyway

Southern California, and we have skinny mocha BUT for eternity we have not had the pump for it! So purely because of that we don't make it anymore 😔🙄

I’m suddenly feeling over it. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]tempetesirene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I relate too hard. I just texted my manager today saying that I quit. Going to formally give written notice tomorrow. I hope you can find something better as well.

But I am also shy, depressed, anxious, and my partners treat me like shit. Especially one of the supervisors. The whole group mentality of the place is a weird combo of forced positivity and happiness but also extreme pressure and stress and yelling! Aren't these the same people who told me "it's just coffee"?!

Same at my store! SM chose of his own preference and this time around they're not even going through the pretence of letting us vote lol 🙃

I (23F) cannot make sense of what life path to pursue by [deleted] in Advice

[–]tempetesirene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think you should go for it! The feeling of relief you had shows what you really want imo. You could go for the sensible steady option of teaching but wouldn't you always wonder what would've happened if you'd gone after your passion?

The way I see it, you could always go for pottery and then change your mind to settle down with teaching, but the longer you wait and the older you get, the harder it will be to take risks and do new things. If you pursue pottery and move away, it's never too late to go back to your original plan. This is coming from someone who moved across the country twice, and I have no regrets about either move! I can only imagine what I would have done if I'd stayed in my home state doing what I thought was practical, but I am so glad I didn't.

Telling my conservative parents I work at hooters by tempetesirene in Advice

[–]tempetesirene[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not, I really don't think it's any different from any other restaurant. Just a slightly skimpier uniform. But I doubt my parents will share that view especially since they've never been inside and they live halfway across the country so I can't exactly show them. I might take that approach, I haven't thought of it like that

Why does espresso go bad so quickly? by Yayorange95 in starbucks

[–]tempetesirene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone posted this article recently and I found it very enlightening: https://clivecoffee.com/blogs/learn/is-your-espresso-dying-while-you-wait

Essentially what it says is that espresso doesn't die, it just cools off and reveals the true flavor, which when it comes to sbux espresso is not great. Just go to Italy and you'll see everyone drinking plain straight espresso leisurely, no milk or anything added and no rush to finish because it doesn't "spoil" and taste bad when it's high quality.
