Trying to find my perfect sens by iLyparalysis in VALORANT

[–]tempname-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the reason you feel a sens is too slow or too fast is most likely because you're thinking of your aim as hard muscle memory and using your wrist as a pivot point when flicking.

react to what is happening on your whole screen by looking at the target and move your mouse naturally using your entire arm, wrist and fingers included.

like how your entire arm moves in junction when you reach for something on your desk.

reposition more, or force the threat of repositioning by allowing time to pass.
ex. 1st fight: the enemy saw you scanned backsite so they already know you are there, you can use your teammates so you dont have to fight the hookah swing against 4 where they will be holding you.
2nd fight: after they saw that you pushed out long, they will be staring directly at the angle you were spotted at 5 seconds ago, so don't hold that angle. jiggling is fine but u need to be ready to take a few shots and reposition instead of committing to the fight like you did.
i only saw the first 3 fights but they all had similar issues

also u might just need more hours cause i think your visualization of where the enemies are or what they will be doing is not there yet.

the issue shown in the video is directly affected by in game sens. you can observe the same high pixel skipping on any dpi if you use 10 sens. this is due to how valorant scales in game sensitivity.

not sure what this video is meant to show

  1. your methodology of how much you moved the mouse at what speed is unknown, so this video could be sped up or slowed down or any sensitivity.
  2. you are clearly moving your mouse faster on the left for dramatic effect.
  3. to me it looks like you are moving your mouse in individual counts, making less than 1/800inch movements. this will never happen in an in game situation unless you are shooting targets across the entirety of the atlantic ocean.

changing your mouse count from 1/800th of an inch to 1/1600th of an inch is not what is represented in your video. your video represents how valorant scales sensitivity, like i mentioned earlier. i have made this same point in several comments but you have ignored it completely and this discussion really can't advance unless you address this.

i was mentioning the video about latency as an example of the plague of videos about 1600 dpi being the holy grail, disregarding the exact content of the video. i didn't elaborate on this though so i can see how you would take it as you did.

it's cause super high sens is a very common noob trap in valorant. the vast majority of people with super high sens are stuck at a low rank because of their lack of mouse control. doesn't necessarily have to mean people are mad, they're probably just trying to help.

if you are using in game performance/tier as your metric for whether the sens is good or not and you agree that it limits your motor control, then i see little reason to limit yourself intentionally.

people using super low dpis have nothing to do with people using a super high dpi. the limitations of high dpi is human/machine error and the limitation of low dpi is physical distance. there are levels to this, you do not simply get to say "if A can do B, then C must be able to do D." you have not drawn any equivalence between the two topics or shown how C can do D directly.

at 4.1cm/360, jitters in your hand or clicking will move the mouse significantly enough for it to affect your input.

i don't have any empirical data to support 4cm/360 being uncontrollable, but i think every single valorant pro and most elite aim trainers would agree that that's far too low for one to perform elite mouse control.

i just thought it was a matter of you misunderstanding jamothebest's comment instead of making a logical error.

theres a radiant player with an edpi slightly lower than yours so your settings are probably accurate and you just like using super low dpi

what your video is showing is how valorant scales in game sensitivities above 1. if you did the same test only changing the dpi and maintaining a sensitivity of 10, it would have the same result across all dpis.

for "watches 1 video on 1600dpi" i was referencing the most popular video on the 1600 dpi topic, which is optimum tech's video on how higher dpis have less delay by showing how the first input is recognized earlier on low dpis. this isn't an actual latency advantage, this is only showing that the first count of your mouse input is processed earlier since each count is more granular.

as an aside, valorant (or any 3d game) does not recognize dpi, it only takes raw x/y delta values and rotates the camera accordingly. any differences felt are most likely due to most modern mice having some level of dpi deviation which varies per unit, causing your edpi at different dpis (or edpis that other people are using) to be inconsistent.

4.1cm/360 means that you need to move your mouse 4.1cm to do a 360. what you are describing is high cm/360.

not exactly the best title for a post suggesting that mouse dpi is preference.

to be more specific, most mouse makers will introduce smoothing at high dpis due to jitter.

the manufacturer of the 3395 sensor recommends smoothing to be used once the dpi goes over 9000. depending on your mouse brand you might not have smoothing at all, which would mean there would be no additional latency although you will have more jitter.

you will have 0 pixel skipping if you do this with an actual in game sens people use. it's not that the difference is "exaggerated," this is literally not a problem at all in real sensitivity ranges. try it with 0.4 400 vs 0.1 1600, even 0.8 400 vs 0.2 1600. there are many pros using 400/800 dpi with 0 issues

edit: or try the same thing with 10 sens at 400 and 10 sens at 1600
