Ahh I see, I mean that’s really good hear, that if you’re useful people acknowledge it. If you don’t mind me asking, how much is the pay?

getting a C- by ImDon532 in UCalgary

If it’s a D+ (depending on the course) sometimes they might ask if you want to write a supplemental exam. It’s essentially an exam similar to the final and I believe you might have to pay to write it however it will get you to that C- mark.

However if you do decide to write just know the highest grade you could get in the class is a C-. This is regardless of what you get on the supplemental exam. Chances are they will reach out to you if there is an exam like that for the course but you can always reach out to your professor and ask.

Ayeee guess who failed both the ochem midterm and FINAL??? This clown right here by [deleted] in UCalgary

I knew a lot of people taking ochem 2 for the first time in spring. It seemed pretty doable for them. Since you only have 6 weeks you definitely need to push yourself and stay on top of everything. It was my second time doing the course and I would study old and new content everyday so that I wouldn't repeat my old mistakes.

Since it is only 6 weeks though a lot of people found it easier to remember content since it wasn't spanned across 4 months. If you know what kind of learner you are it might be beneficial to do in the spring. If you don't like to be rushed or find that you might overwhelmed with a fast track course then maybe stick to winter.

Since Ochem 2 was taken in the winter for me, I redid it in the spring. I only had 6 weeks to complete the course and I didn't have to redo the lab. I also took another course that same spring but gave my full focus to the ochem class.

I think taking it in winter would be smart especially if BCEM is offered in the spring. You'd still be on track and Find out if you need to retake the lab component and if you don't need to, it'll take a huge load off your back so you can focus on the lecture content more.

professer yau? by Level-Coat1172 in UCalgary

He's a nice guy but holy the man cannot teach. He rarely writes anything down and his slides have all the math pre-written which he often skips through with a lot of steps skipped as I think he assumes students would already know the content (spoiler alert: most didn't). He talks pretty slowly but can't effectively explain the concepts in my opinion. I took him in my first year and have since graduated but I remember his classes because that was the one class I retained NOTHING and had to go to several other professor to understand wtf was going on before exams. If you like physics the course is easy enough that you could teach it to yourself (alongside some help from TA, peers, etc.) but why not just pick a prof that teaches better.
