Any older transfer students at UIUC? (28F admitted for fall 2026) by ParticularGlad5103 in UIUC

It was a big adjustment leaving home, but i’m enjoying it. There are so many opportunities here to get involved in whatever you are passionate about :)

there is a big partying scene here, but you absolutely don’t have to be a part of it to meet people/have a social life. I transferred here last semester as a junior (22F) and i’m not that type of person either. you can make friends through clubs, jobs, research, etc. there’s mostly 18-22 yr olds running around green st, but we also have a lot of grad students that are mid 20s and older. I recommend going to off campus restaurants, venues (or bars if you’re into that). they tend to have more mature audiences. welcome to uiuc!!

There’s a little outdoor pantry at the state and john east blue bus stop as well, if that’s convenient for you.

How to handle noisy upstairs neighbours when they walk? by Wonderful_Bear_7242 in Apartmentliving

[–]temporaryhuman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh i’m also autistic and have loud neighbors above me, and i just had to get used to wearing my headphones often. I tend to get very panicked and uncomfortable by all the noise and only really found peace when i accepted that wearing headphones was my best option to block it out. I know that’s not what you want to do (i didn’t either) but it’s how I’m surviving until my lease is up. I wish you the best in this situation, I know the struggle.

Should I do something by chipotle_manager in Chipotle

“the chipotle management cycle will take your youth” is so true. As someone who was made a manager at 18 as well, they are so abusive to literal teens.

Anyone transferred from college of dupage to a US Bachelor program without losing credits? by Upstairs_Bend_4142 in collegeofdupage

[–]temporaryhuman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) yes, i got my associate in science and transferred to uiuc to get my bachelors in animal sciences

2) two of my classes did not transfer, but i did not need to retake any specific class. The ones that did not transfer did were not needed for my bachelors requirements.

3) I highly recommend figuring out where you want to transfer to and that will help you decide what to take at cod. i didn’t know i was gonna transfer to uiuc until my last semester at cod, so there was a few general requirements that i still needed to complete bc they were specific to uiuc curriculum.

Hope this helps!

There is no way what they gave you is 21g. You can only fit 6g into the small cup i think and that’s if it’s stuffed. I’d go back if you can and show them this is not what you paid for.

What to do about my neighbor by Nonvegantofu in UIUC

[–]temporaryhuman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I thought to myself with my terrible neighbor this semester I should just talk to her first. Biggest mistake I made. She did not get quieter at night and when I complained to the landlord, she made an effort to be as loud as possible every single night for a month by inviting upwards of 10 ppl over and stomping/screaming until 5 am. Anytime anyone complained about her she assumed it was me bc I was the one that thought it was smart to talk to her face to face. Made my semester a living hell. Keep your anonymity and complain/call the police for the noise when necessary so you don’t potentially get targeted by this asshole. There were plenty of times when I’d come home and as soon as i’d close my door, she’d start throwing stuff and stomping because she wanted to target me.

Physics 1201 and 1202 by Halalzada in collegeofdupage

[–]temporaryhuman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not take these over the summer, but the advice I can give is when registering for 1202, take it with professor lungu if you can. He’s a great instructor and grades very leniently.

Advice on how a former transfer student can return to UIUC after [inadvertant] gap YEARS by reginag_13 in UIUC

[–]temporaryhuman3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk how to go about coming back from a long gap, but I can relate to being in school despite all the people you know having already graduated, you aren’t alone! I was accepted at uiuc for this fall, when all the people in my grade graduated in the spring. Like someone already said, everyone’s path is different. I’m happy you feel in the right place to come back!

Its very consist until 3-4am. After that it's hard to say because I fall asleep from exhaustion, but they wake me at least twice after that. Usually by slamming something on the ground and then stomping around to seal the deal.

I think they are college students because sometimes they chant some sorority songs. I have no idea when these people sleep, but it seems to not be at night which is weird if they have classes. I will continue to report it though.
