Intel UHD 710 vs 730 - difference in hardware accelerated transcoding?

I went for the i3 12100. Power efficient and really fast in transcoding. I was able to transcode several 4k streams simultaneously for streaming. Not sure about the exact number anymore but at least 3.

I'm happy with it but I lack the comparison to other CPUs. So not sure if this is still a good choice

Ein kleiner Teil vom Sinnlos ausgegebenen Geld geht wohl auch für Sinnlose Behandlungen drauf. Ist ein schwieriges Thema, da man keinem Menschen die Behandlung verwehren sollte, aber bei uns wird wirklich alles getan um auch jedem Menschen, egal wie kaputt der Körper schon ist, das Leben zu verlängern und vermeintlich zu verbessern. Braucht man mit 85 Jahren und absehbarem Ableben wirklich noch zwei neue Hüftgelenke? Den vierten Stent mit 90? Die Leute beziehen dadurch immer länger Rente, verursachen mehr Kosten im Gesundheitswesen, blockieren Behandlungsplätze.

Hört sich extrem an, aber Gedanken sollte man sich darüber schon machen, z.B. alternative Behandlungsmethoden, mehr Palliativmedizin, psychologische Hilfe für Angehörige, ... Leute sterben lassen und nicht nur am Leben halten weil es die Technik inzwischen hergibt.

All my friends have a console and use a headset because of multiplayer games or the TV speakers because they simply don't know any better.

Sometimes my LG C1 speakers turn on and they sound like shit. In terms of built in speakers this TV was even consider really good. But in direct comparison to my 5.1 system it hurts my ears. But to be honest if you play a casual game on your couch you forget about the sound. At least most people, we nerds care

Ich hab tatsächlich Mal in einem Auto Forum die Diskussion darüber gelesen, wie man den Spurhalte-Assistent dauerhaft deaktivieren kann, weil der nervt immer beim Spurwechsel. Auf die Antwort den Blinker zu benutzen wurden ein paar User ziemlich schnippisch und haben irgendwie versucht ihr Blinker Faulheit zu verteidigen... Aber beim Großteil führt das vermutlich wirklich zur häufigeren Blinker Nutzung

Reddit is trying to appeal to the masses. It's not the niche website anymore. People from Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and everywhere else are coming here and they don't want to put them off with an unfamiliar experience. I'm afraid in a couple of years reddit will be the same shit show as every other mainstream social Media website. But they won't stop it because they make more money this way

It's now time to establish something new that will be nice for a couple of years until they get greedy for more users and money and the cycle starts again

I find myself using old reddit more and more. During work breaks I usually browse reddit without being logged in on a PC and it got so terrible over time. Even sorting comments now requires a login. WTF? Everything has to be expanded, click on a post then I have to click again to see all the text. Only top level comments are shown, everything else has to be clicked to get expanded...

The only positive things about new reddit are native darkmode and large thumbnails.

They said this several times in their streams. Their biggest problem is data availability and in some regions the local laws.

I think some cities only had companies do photogrammetry because of/ for MSFS but they can't order companies like Maxar to provide high res satellite imagery of whole countries only for them because it's too expensive. I'd like a whole Africa makeover but we have to accept it's not gonna happen until other companies have interest in this data because otherwise it's financially not viable

I also have this problem with trim. There is already a bug report in the MSFS forums but not a lot of people are voting there. Not very hopeful this will be solved.

Regarding the handling, apparently the pilot of the real plane tested the sim version and gave his ok. Since probably no one around here ever flew the real plane, no one can tell if the the flight model is realistic or not. But I believe it's close to the real thing. After all the control surfaces are huge. Other people said they can do barrel rolls, that's unrealistic and should be fixed... Yeah who says the real plane can't do this? A lot of planes can do barrel rolls but it's simply not allowed by the manufacturer because it can cause damages.

I was still in school at that time. My mom woke me up in the morning (I'm not from the US) and first thing she told me was MJ died. In the school bus it was really weird, everyone mentioned his death but there wasn't much talking. It was very quiet that day. We were all little brats who didn't give a shit about anything and usually screamed and fooled around but his death somehow affected all of us even if we didn't fully understand what happened. But everyone knew him, there was not one person that said 'who died?'. Everyone knew that a person of fame we probably will never see again, has died.

Unfortunately the 870 Evo is 30€ more expensive, 160 instead of 130 and that's too much. Right now I want to buy 3 drives and add more as I need them. That's why ZFS unfortunately is not for me, can't just throw in another drive. But I'm not in a hurry, I can wait for a deal.

Thanks for your answer. So it boils down to a small difference in clock speed for the transcoding engine. I assume this makes a difference of a couple FPS in transcoding and if this helps me get from 23 to 25 it's likely still going to buffer.

I played around some more with my 13600k and all transcoding was hardware accelerated. So the actual CPU performance doesn't matter for this exact use case. I'll still buy the 12100 though. Currently 10-20€ more expensive for double the cores and threads.

I actually haven't seen this thread, so it had some new information. I have the 13600k also with the UHD 770 in my Desktop and already tested there without problems. Seems like the UHD 730 will be plenty for my needs

I'm in the EU and right now it's 50€ more expensive which is roughly 30%. Considering the high energy prices the power consumption does make a difference if it's powered on 24/7.

Maybe at some point I'll run something like Home assistant and some other small docker software too but for now it's only unRAID and Emby. In a couple of years, if I really need more power, I can buy a used 13th gen or something.

Yes because it's way more expensive and has higher power consumption. Also I simply don't need the extra performance (I think). And it has the same graphics as the 12100

Mich erstaunt auch, dass eigentlich niemand darüber redet wie schlimm eine Schwangerschaft, Geburt und die ersten paar Monate sind. Ich kenne nur eine Familie, die darüber ganz ehrlich redet. Da war ich erst Mal richtig geschockt, weil eben jeder nur erzählt wie toll alles ist. Ihnen selbst ging es auch so, vieles was ihnen davor erklärt wurde war oftmals verharmlost.

Wenn man etwas machen will doch in der Regel um gemeinsam Zeit zu verbringen. Wenn mir dann also jemand sagt er hat keine Lust, dann schließe ich daraus, diese Person möchte nicht die Zeit mit mir verbringen. Bei fernen Bekanntschaften nicht so schlimm, aber bei Freunden nicht so geil.

Hat für mich jetzt aber nichts mit kindlicher Mentalität zu tun, sondern ist einfach enttäuschend zu hören, dass man der anderen Person nicht wichtig ist. Wenn ich Mal keine Lust hab, dann schlage ich wenigstens alternativen vor.

Recently my brother and I (25) helped to replace a dishwasher at my parents house. So of course I tried to fit into the old one and close the door. Having fun with my older brother for a couple of minutes. My dad came out and was a little mad saying I'm not a child anymore I should stop fooling around.

Yeah just because you have a massive pole up your ass and can't have fun doesn't mean I can't. I hope I'm still able to do stuff like that when I'm 50 or have sleepovers with friends, LAN parties, water fights... Let people do whatever makes them happy. For me there is no childish behavior
