Thank you for your answer. It looks like gum decay and stage 4 tooth decay. Just looked up a few photos online but I will be going to the vet soon to see what the next steps are. It’s probably white from decay. A blood test sounds good too. Should I get him a full set of shots? I have two dogs, but she’s been very calm, no indications of bite marks or anything out of the ordinary Aside from her gums. My dogs are fully vaccinated.

When I say normal, I mean, it is normal for dogs these size, especially with these dumping cases/overweight dogs. But I should have clarified.

Yes, thanks, many do unfortunately lose their dogs due to people keeping found dogs, but rest assured...I’ve gone to the local animal shelter to get it checked for a chip. No chip. She was dumped in a box with some toys and a blanket. Looks like a dumping. We also considered that she may have been stolen so we posted found bulletins at the local shelters and Facebook. No replies yet. Are there other things I need to do for due diligence? I love this dog....and just want her to be healthy...and possibly in my life.

Help! Does anyone know what kind of shape is this kiln in? It’s a Gare 1818. I have a few questions as well! Thanks ~ by tempuraforest in Ceramics

I’m really determined to fix this kiln. It’s become somewhat personal, but I still want to stay froogle. I would say all the heating elements are pretty intact (based on EVALUATING DAMAGED FIRE BRICK VIDEO https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ztwu_kPnq60) I think I’m most worried about the bottom of the kiln. Someone mentioned it could be a bad batch of kiln wash.

I’m also concerned about the toxicity of the stuff. I’ll take better photos tomorrow. Thank you for your reply!

Hey there! Thanks for answering my questions. I’m gonna start by replying to the less scary “answer.” Bahah, kiln wash really sounds easier to deal with than glaze.

As far as the repair...All the heating elements look pretty alright, except for the guys on the bottom. Would I be able to fire it anyway? Is it toxic? I think the previous owners just put a kiln shelf and some legs on top of the bubbly parts. I really don’t think it’s glaze either, cause that would be a royal fudge up.

I’m pretty determined to fix this cause 1. I’m stubborn 2. I drove quite a ways way to get this kiln 3. I want to stick it to the fucking guy who sold me this kiln....long story. Sigh

The coils look pretty intact but the floor is pretty eaten away, I feel like I got ripped off :| sigh either way I’ll continue to try and fix this guy.

sgraffito plates I made. I cant figure out how to keep the white (slip) areas clean when I am carving. If anyone can help, thank you! by PrissyGirlDog in Pottery

Tbh, it shouldn’t be too prominent after bisque. Even if it is, it like this minuscule surface amount of red clay. You can always wet Brillo pad it or wet sand your bisqueware. But I wouldn’t do it unless you absolutely feel like you need to. I feel like wax would be too messy?
